Newbie questions

Hi all, i recently bought a nc24 as a big project {most bolts were rounded, exhaust system shot to hell and running on three cylinders:(with someones custom pigs ear of a wiring loom} so far i have stripped the bike welded up the exhaust system {collector box} bought a second set of carbs {as the sliders were knackered} stripped the forks {the damper rod bolts were rounded}
I've now had a closer look at the brakes and the rear disc is cracked!
I've tried to get the rear axle off and had no luck , when i loosen the pinch bolts and try to tap the axle through it seems as if the carrier bearing is coming out instead.
If anyone can enlighten me of how to get it out that would be great.
Cheers Chris
