Ok, so we finish up with the race... Now mind you I started the day in Atascadero and rode out around 9:15am to head for the race. I made it up to the track around 11:45 so I was pretty please with that. The crowd didn't seem as heavy to me this year, but maybe it was just the time I arrived. Anyway Tori and Brian wanted to come down hwy 1 so I rode with them. Some time south of Gorda I noticed that I couldn't hold a line when taking a curve.. At first I thought it was the wind, but then I decided something must be loose. At this point I started flagging Brian down to pull over... Well, he was observing the scenery or something so about 2 miles later we pulled over... I put the bike up on the centerstand and rotate the tire to find a little white piece of glass right in the middle of the tire... Lucky for me I brought my handy dandy roadside plug kit...
After digging out the glass and cleaning the hole with that thingy above, I stick one of these nice gummy plugs in there...
Then I squirt in a little fix a flat that I also had stuff in the saddlebag and then brian hooks up his porta-compressor... It took a while but it got me back up to 40psi which I decided was good enough.
And here's one of the last pics I snapped. It's getting on to the sunset and Tori was unsuccessful in his quest for the missing Ipod so we lined them up cliffside on hwy one and grabbed a couple shots for posterity.
That's all for now. It was a fun time. The only member I ran into was Norcalboy but I saw a few VFRs. It seemed like less than last year to me, though... I think we are fading away.... Anyway, maybe I'll see some of you next week when I take on Washington and Oregon... SLOVFR will be there, will you?
