Front Brake Master Cylinder upgrade??

Hey guys I was wondering if there is a front brake master cylinder from another Honda that I can use to upgrade the one on my 84 VF700F. Im am really underwhelmed with the performance of the stock unit. I have tried replacing the fluid and rebuilding the master as well as cleaning and lubing all of the sliders and it already has stainless brake lines but it still seems to not work as well as it should. The only thing that I can think of to get the braking capability that I want is to replace the master cylinder with a larger one. I know the VF master is just under 16mm Im just not sure what bike has a master that would be an upgrade. Any help that anyone can give would be much appreciated. Thanks

What about the pucks in the calipers? Are they working freely? What's the disc surface like? Any idea what pads it has? Like stock, Ferodo, Ebc etc? This is the other half of your braking system. Never had a problem with my master cylinder being enough when all the other stuff was in good order. Don't know of any other MC to use.

The calipers are in good working order. I have checked them out completely. I'm not sure what brand the brake pads are but they are in good condition. Wear is normal and they are not glazed or overheated. The rotors are also in good condition. They are well within spec for thickness. The problem that I have is the brake lever feels soft. Under normal braking it goes almost all of the way to the handlebar. As I stated I have rebuilt the master and it made no difference. I have also tried another stock master cylinder that I have and it was the same too. I have bled the brakes several times and no air comes out. The only thing that I can think of is that when the previous owner installed the stainless brake lines he did it incorrectly. He installed two long lines from the master to the calipers rather than use the stock setup of three short lines. Im not sure if the extra fluid that the master cylinder has to push with two long lines is enough to throw off the brake feel or not. My thought is that if this is an issue a larger master cylinder should be able to compensate for this and also give me better braking at the same time.

Risoto thanks for the website. They are nice. I am hoping to use a master that came stock on something preferably honda. That way it will be easier and hopefully less expensive to get parts for. Buy if that can't happen one of the nissin masters should work well.

Well I have figured out part of my problem. The master cylinder that is currently on the bike appears to be a 14mm. Stock according to the factory manual is 15.9 if i remember correctly. I tried a known good 5/8 (15.88mm) master cylinder that I had in the garage and it was better but still not as good as it should be. There is still excessive travel. Anyone have any thoughs on this? Are there any newer hondas that would have a master cylinder that is larger than 15.9mm that would be compatible?
