Hi All,
Would anyone happen to know if the spark plug wires are interchangeable across the three model years?
It looks like the coils are a match (part no. 30510MB0703) but the plug wires appear to have different numbers..?
Many thanks!

Does seem like a bit of a head-scratcher..?
'84 lists:
10 (2 total) part no. 30731MJ8670
11 part no. 30733MF2000
12 part no. 30734KE7153
'85:
13 part no. 30751MF2880 (from serial# FM100979) -or- 30751MF2880 (# FM100586)
14 part no. 30752MF2670
15 part no. 30753MF2000
16 part no. 30754KE7000

The wires have different part numbers probably because they are different legnths. If they fit on the plugs and the coils i dont see why they wouldn't work?

The head is a different design on the '86 - could it be that the plug wires are routed differently - and/or the spark plug boots are a different design?
Though - the strange part here is that the '84 and '85 also show different part numbers (the '85 showing a change mid-year as well).
I thought that the engine design was identical on the '84/'85 with changes only in the jetting for the carburetors..?
Well I cant speak about the routing of the wires or plug boots but I put an '86 motor in my 85 a while ago and didn't have any problems with spark plug wires.
I've also read on this forum about people making their own wires. I dont know this for sure but i really dont think it maters as long as the spark gets to the plug
