    called Lindemann

Looks close except for the clicker. How does yours compare to a twin clicker? I called Lindemann (thanks Andy). They offered to do a rebuild w/ new spring for right around $300. Seems reasonable.

Would it be a bad idea for me to try cleaning it up first..sandblast, recoat the spring, change the oil and run it? The bike was stored outside for a couple years. I have no idea on milage.

Yep, that's an older Ohlins shock. Probably just serviced by LE at one time. Hopefully that means it was setup for a rider weight close to yours!
