So about three months ago my Beloved Gen 2 was rearended on the freeway in NW Washington with me on it. Fortunately I was relatively uninjured. The bike however was crunched up good. The subframe was massively tweaked, the rear rim toast along with every bit of fiberglass or plastic body work on the bike as it slid under the car in front of it. The good news, besides a leaky radiator hose, a busted oil cooler and no front fairing, the front end is un damaged. Took the forks of and they are straight as an arrow, took some measurements on the frame and swing arm and they both appear to be square. So I have a parts bike with a good subframe and rear wheel, replaced the radiator hose and oil cooler and am in the process of bringing her back to life. It took me tearing the carbs apart and cleaning them out to get her to fire, probably something got jossled in the impact, but she runs.
So The theme of this Fighter project is cheap. I want this machine to scare small children and make old women weep. I already have a gentlemans bike, It's called my Ducati ST4S. I now need my hooligan bike.
So far Ive ordered an FZR front headlight Im planning on modifying to work on the VFR, Imagine a Buell front headlight but cheaper.
Also planning on making a solo seat, choping the subframe about 8-10inches shorter, mounting a CBR or ZX7r Taillight IN the seatpan. If I have no bodywork I wont complain. I dont plan on making it a beauty queen just functional and mean. Ill get some pics of her so far as well as som concept drawings as soon as I can.
Any suggestions or comments are appriciated.

Hmmmm..... I like it *Evil Grin* But I think I'm gonna stick with the existing carbon supertrapp thats on there for now..... But I like the way you think.
The biggest hurdle I see is the tail end. Im not gonna do one of those typical rediculous stinger tails converted from a cbr like everone and their brother does. I really want no plastic whatsoever on the bike, so Im thinking of literally biulding the taillight assembly into the back of the seat with integrated taillights.

Checkout SuperTex's Build, he made his custom tail section. Also search CBR600rr...i am another person modified thier subframe to fit a CBR600rr tail. Really not that hard to do with a welder/JB WELD and some steel and also some imagination. There are a few 2nd gen streetfighters that look awesome. Good luck and post some pics.
Here are a few shots of the front end with the FZR headlight mocked up. It is a lot bigger than I originally expected, the lenses alone are 5 1/8" in diameter, I was thinking 3 1/5 to 4" Mounting them will be tricky, but Ive got a few ideas.
Ignore the oil cooler for the moment, haven't decided where its gonna go yet. Some new lines will be in order though.
