What bikes are in your neighborhood?
OK, lets see how well you know your neighbors. What do they ride? Within 1/2 mile of me are 2 Harleys, plus 1 custom, I think its a Big Dog. 2 Norton 750 Commandos, 1 Triumph Trophy 1200, 1 Suzuki GS550L, 1 old Honda CB750 (hardtail w/apehangers) Street bikes only. Dirt bikes, quads, and mopeds don't count!
I have ridden with the Triumph and the Norton (same owner). He always follows me on the Norton. It vibrates so bad his mirrors are worthless! Let's see whatcha got.1985interceptor500.jpg Ride hard or stay home. |

I have seen a few guys with Harleys, one guy with a HD clone, and a guy up the road has several bikes in his garage. Saw another fella with a Buell lightening? Don't know if he lives there still. Lots of kids and men on sport bikes in the general area. In Tucson, though, I have seen everything from vintage BMW's to custom choppers to V8 bikes.

Mostly Hardly-Ablesons.
An old BMW of some kind goes by the house. A Suzuki Bergman 650 scooter. The guy who rides that is a real cool guy. A squid with a Ninja 500 that has a LOUD Jardine pipe. And a kid rides by on a Rebel 250 too. BZ

A 1/2 mile radius includes a lot of people where I live so I'm sure I'm missing a lot of bikes. Now I'm the only rider in my townhouse development, but I've seen a Honda 750 Nighthawk and a Gixxer (not sure which one) parked at the apartment complex next to where I live.

I have 2 buddies that live within 2 blocks of me - one has an 08 KLR the other has an 1150GS. I live on a fairly main road and see a lot of cruisers (HDs and metrics). KLRs are also popular in my hood.

Well, let's see ...
Hello, All:
Well, in my neighborhood, there is a fully-restored vintage '50s Harley "springer" up the street. There is BMW R 1200 S (nice bike). There are two aging Goldwings up on the second block (bad shape, but ridden). There is a Yamaha R6 a few blocks away. There is a guy who has both a V65 Magna and a Suzuki (I don't know the model). There is a Harley Sportster down the street. There is a Suzuki GSXR across the street, but the guy NEVER rides it. There is a Y2K VFR a few blocks away, come to think of it. There is another Red VFR (a '92, I think). I see a vintage Triumph Bonneville in the neighborhood all the time, but I am not certain where he lives. A guy down the block has a Ducati 998 (beautiful). Four blocks away there is a guy with a HUGE Harley - riveted saddlebags, lights everywhere, loud. And, the last one I can think of is an RC51 (but that guy just moved out of the neighborhood - I miss that one, it sounded mean - Sato exhaust). So, come to think of it, lots-o-bikes. Gray Market |

Lets see, in my neck of the woods, we have:
My neighbor directly across the street has 4 HD's, 2 VROD's, 1 custom Sportster & something I don't know what it is. He also runs a bike workshop so there are countless bikes near my house on any given day of the week. A co-worker says he's getting a Sportster 883 because, "My dad says Harley's are the best bikes." (no, that is not an exaggeration) A guy I know from the base & the local Honda dealer used to have an ST1300 but recently traded it in for a 07 Goldwing. There is an older guy with a HD Trike. A dumbass squid with a Busa slathered in enough chrome to cover a Kenworth. This guy can't pull out of his driveway since the stupid thing is so low to the ground that he scraped the collector. A NJDOC officer with a CBR600RR that I have never seen moved from it's parking place in years. A couple being forclosed out of their brand new ARM financed house with a VTX1800. Some guy I don't know with a Kawasaki Vulcan with hard bags on it. I've seen a guy on a Victory a bunch of times but I'm not sure where he lives. KC-10 FE out... ![]()
