Hey I came across a buyer on Ebay who's selling integrated mirrors for 3rd and 4th generation VFR's. He said the mirrors are exactly how they appear in the pics he provides. Does anyone have them? Will they go on without any mods?

I think it would be MUCH safer with directionals up there where the cagers might see them. I would have to wonder about the quality of the mirror at that price, however. My "quality" '05 Toyota has circus mirrors.
If anyone buys I set, I'd like to hear what they're like.
What would you do with the "integrated" turnisignals the bike already has??? paint over them???
One of the reasons I picked the VFR is that I wouldn't ever have to deal with removing ugly-ass turnsignal stalks and replacing them with junky Chinese knock-off blinkers to keep it legal and safe. Plus, in Vermont, you CANNOT inspect a motorcycle that has aftermarket signals. Everything MUST be OE lighting. Trust me, I've installed and re-installed the blinkers on my brother's GSX-R half a dozen times already...
Personally I like the look of the mirrors regardless of the LED lights integrated into them. Maybe I just wouldn't hook up the wiring, but you'll have to admit they do look sharper then the original 3rd generation mirrors. :)
I just ordered the mirrors, they should be in within a week or 2. I'll let you know how the installation goes and I'll also post pics.
I'd like to see pics of the mirrors installed,i'm not a fan of the boots on the stock mirrors either.

I'm no good at wiring, but couldn't you wire them so that BOTH the stock turn signals and the ones in the aftermarket mirrors work ?
Cars have this feature (both mirror signals & turn signals in fender/bumper, ect) that work together, can't see why it would be undoable on a bike ?

Yeah I'm no electrician, but I'm sure you could figure something out or find someone who does. I'm just going to tint the signals that are integrated into the fairing and connect the existing wires to the after market mirrors.
I have looked at those too. The only obvious mod would be to your wire harness to get power to the turn signals. I would be curious how they fit also.
Ok here it is before and after pics of the after market integrated mirrors. The installation was quick and easy and needed little modification. The bolts came with nuts which weren't needed, although we did have to cut a slit on the bolt head so we could tighten it with a flat head. The reason for this is b/c a there wasn't enough room to fit a socket around the head. We ran the wires under the wind screen without drilling through (not noticeable). The wiring was quick and simple, all we did was connect the ground and power wires to the existing turn signals. There is a wire that is used for parking lights, so we left that on the original signal and this turns off when signaling, while staying on without signaling. I'm going to leave this the way it is for now for inspection purposes but, once I pass inspection I'm eliminating the parking lights and tinting over the original signal lights. I think this makes the 3rd generation viffer look a lot sharper and more modern. I hope you like the pic, I'll have more to follow. Enjoy

well it's kind of hard to tell right now considering we have about 15 inches of snow on the ground but, I'll be sure to get back to you when April roles around.

How did you attach these? I bought a similar pair off a vendor on eBay, and as delivered they had to be secured from the back; stock mount bolts wouldn't work either. I'm returing them because the vendor has been a complete jerk about the whole thing - telling me I'm an idiot to even expect applicable mounting hardware to be included. The mirrors were very simple to install, all you need is:
Grinder - to grind a slit in the top of the bolt heads for use of a flathead.
Dremel - to grind the plastic on the inside to make enough room for the bolt head to fit snug through.
Flat Head- to tighten the bolts securely.
I read the threads on the link above and a lot of people were skeptical on buying after market mirrors. From what I read the alleged Ebayer has been advertising the mirrors without the mounting gear. This is where improvising
comes in handy, I don't know exactly what you received in your package in terms of instructions and mounting gear (maybe a link or a picture would help to determine what you can do to improvise a solution). My mirrors came with 2x bolts, 2x nuts (which you don't need b/c the originals are secured without nuts and don't need them), although the spacing wasn't viable to fit the head of the nut through the plastic, we came up with alternatives to make them fit. The Ebayer I dealt with wasn't the best but, I got my parcel and configured it to fit snug without any problems, which only took 20 mins to install including wiring and hardware.
I also read threads in which riders had vibration issues which caused the screws to shake loose. Not a big deal guys, theres ways around that and with a simple turn of the screwdriver on your daily inspections before riding I don't think that'll hold you up much or cause you to complain too much. If that doesn't work think of an alternative solution. These old viffers can be modernized with a little thought and creativity.
The view to the rear is great, the after market mirrors are bigger and hold no difference than stock other than the fact they are shaped different and a little bit bigger. You'll have a blasty blast showing these off to your buddies with the newer models and for $60 to the door I have no shame on making the old girl look pretty.

You can use the stock fittings and put the new arms and mirros on. That's what I've done to get rid of the ugly boots that came with them.....Brian

I thought about trying to make them work on my '92, but the experience I had with the seller was the killer - I came to the conclusion that I simply didn't want to partonize the prick. I returned them to him - he got them 2 days ago - and he's still refusing to refund or even respond to my emails. The way I see it, why the hell would I want to support someone who conducts themselves like that - who would openly screw any one of us. But I'm glad they worked for you aawhite. Cheers all....
yah I had the same experience with probably the same guy.. I tried to ask him some questions and he was like you said a prick.. gave me one word answers and sarcastic comments. Everyones happy when you get what you ordered I guess.. he just has an attitude problem and I'll never deal with him again.. I just don't understand some people these days when it comes to selling their products online.. they give these big bullshit write ups and guarantee their product and when the customer has a problem they turn the other way.. Indeed - in the end this is his own undoing; he's not pissing off individuals, he's pissing off an organized community. Ultimately there will be other members who read these posts who will not do business with him. These posts also perform extremely well in organic searches - so even if someone is not a member of our esteemed botherhood, if they search on "integrated mirrors for VFR750" - just on a research basis - they'll find this information. So ultimately the guy could have been a hero and gotten a lot of support from the VFR community, but instead will get boycotted because of his actions.

Good looking mirrors, been thinking about these for awhile for my 4th gen. Not really seeing why 92yellowvfr is calling for a boycott on whoever he dealt with. It's an aftermarket part, 9 times out of 10 you have to do a little work to make stuff work. It's not OEM, what do you expect? Not only that, it's a 10+ year old bike, noone makes anything for it. So what gives?
I have no problem working with aftermarket parts that are sold by reputable dealers as such; hell, I bought my veefer out of the showroom some 15 years ago - I don't think it would be complete today if not for gorilla glue, glass resin and JB Weld. My problem is with this dealer in particular because he has been a f'n scumbag through the whole process. I'm not a dick by any means - I tend to think I go a long way to be flexible. But this guy has been just a total prick. So my point is this - if you want to do business with dealers who would screw another one of our members at the drop of a hat, then by all means do business with this guy. But if you have a problem with vendors like that, as I do, then don't patronize them.
BTW - I filed a dispute through PayPal, who found in my favor just yesterday, and gave me a complete refund.
So no surprise this morning when I got notice from eBay that this vendor has now filed an "Unpaid Item" complaint against me. Gimme a frickin break...
