Can't find 1990 VFR750F body panels

First post on any forum. Anywhere.
Well, the body looked good in the pictures... But it turns out every piece of plastic is broken. Everything held together with cable ties. I guess as "emptor," I didn't "caveat."
How do I get "new" plastic without spending twice what the machine is worth even if it's in great shape? I see ads for aftermarket bodywork for '86 & '87 bikes, and for 5th and 6th generation models. But nothing for the 1990. Anyone know how I can replace all the plastic? Does plastic from other model years fit the 1990 model?
I suppose that I should say that I am more interested in a nice-riding machine than I am in a sano restoration.

90-93 fits.

If you don't have large chunks missing, the plastic can be repaired.

Keep watch here for bitsas too and check the archives. For sale stuff lasts a couple of months here.

Good lookin out Jay. A good product but a bit of work to get it back to a stock look. Worth it .

Looking first at Jay's post. Good Deal! The seat cowl is less than what Honda wanted in 91 for thiers.

That one piece lower looks like it might be a chore to remove. Anybody got one installed?

I had the same issue when I damaged my 93. Lucked out by getting two pretty nice condition salvage pieces ($75 each) but could not locate two remaining (which I went OEM - yes OUCH). Looked at Airtech but I am mechanically challenged and most likely would not be able to mount. A company in UK has a nice idea - replacement panels that fit exactly! I emailed them and they are working on 3rd gen's currently.

hey guys I have the entire set of Airtechs on my bike. Yes you are absolutely right about that lower what a bitch... I did however think about it and cut the bottom straight through the middle. I also put brackets two in the front and two in the lower portion of the panels. they fit good. Snugglie, and don't look half bad. I still have my stockers that were on the bike when I got hit, but they are a little broken... I am spending the next couple of weeks dedicating my time to getting these fixed as good as new... I also have a new set of plastics I had posted for sale but I thought I'd just better keep them since the economy sucks balls...

Good fix with the brackets. Looked to me like taking that section on and off for oil and plug changes would mean pulling the front wheel and fender then jacking the bike to some angle just to rassle the thing on and off.

It looks like it was painted and installed. Care to elaborate on both the shape and the quality? The OEM cowls are hard to find, much less buy.

Sometimes stock seats have been modified or replaced with any number of aftermarket seats that do not mesh well with even the OEM cowls. The original cowls were ABS plastic and were not engineered to be much more than cosmetic.

The comment seems to fly in the face of the comments in Air Tech's gallery. One or two raves about even things like millions of dollars in some account in Nigera is to be expected but there are a whole slug of happy campers on that part of the website.

SEATTLE YOU PUSSY LOL (J/K) You need to remember one important thing when buying aftermarket... if they (the manufacturers or employees) don't own whatever it is you're ordering personally, then more than likely it's gonna need some love to begin with... I have found this out with Mountain bikes, road bikes, and motorcycles galor! It's just the nature of the beast...

As for the airtech and getting the front wheel off to do the oil change... I had the bike in the air to get the lowers on and I shook my head as to how I looked in my driveway putting the piece on... LMFAO I'm sure I looked like a dumbass HAAAA that was the deciding factor in cutting it in two. I am going to spend this winter fine tuning the glass on it, making the holes a better fitment (since I dremeled them quickly to get it together) and reinforce areas I think need it... I love aftermarket shit... you can really make it how you want and either be happy with it and leave it or just start over... no paint to worry about, no -I'm gonna keep this stock look going too - it's all on how you think it should look and your ability to do so... what bike from the older era doesn't need a little upgrade here and there for looks and functionality? So i just went to that website, and i clicked on honda went down and found my bike. Click what panel and i guess the site is down, or they remove it. Bc my browser took me to a error page. So if you could help out, it would be awesome! Thanks alot
