Did Honda make colors other than the RWB scheme for 2007?

If this is the case, comparing your VIN's is pretty useless, since they are not making "color runs" - the bikes coming off the end of the assembly line would most certainly be varying colors. In addition, sometimes the VIN sequence does not match the build sequence.

In other words, say they made black and red '07's in addition to the RWB scheme. If the day's production started with VIN # 901120, the first two off the line could be red, the next one black, the next 15 could be RWB. In order to get the info you guys are seeking, you would need to know:
    A.) Total 2007 VFR 800 production (1400?)
B.) Color breakdowns across the board (or, how many RWB's?) If the statement about there being 1000 RWB's is true, the regualr colors are the rarest. Just a thought.

To have a "low number" bike does not mean that you have the "earliest" RWB, you might have the "first" RWB bike. (hawkman)

And 007 may not be a RWB(if other colors exist).

Just speaking from experience here - I maintain a Saab 9-2x (bastard three-way child of Saab, GM and Subaru (FHI)) registry and have run aross these issues before. This registry is 10,400 cars over two model years, with two trim levels and 8 colors. Pretty complex, much more so than a VFR registry would ever be.

    Just my two cents.

That does make a lot of sense. I can't really see Honda making ALL the RWB at the same time, then ALL the reds or whatever.

Another question? Are all the VFR 800's made in the "M" factory? If not then the numbers will be really askew.

Didn't want it back. It was under water for nearly a week. Luckly it was not at my home but at my brothers house parked next to his 2 NEW harleys. I had only made 2 payments on it.

Although I dont have one, mine is a 5th gen, I think the RWB paint scheme is so very sweet. The only thing that I have a problem with are the mufflers, A bit ostentatious, but I am sure there are some pretty good aftermarket systems. eddie

Do they have the 25th Anniversary emblem on the gas tank?

I'm definitely glad to hear that the RWB color scheme exists outside of the US as it should make it easier down the road to get bodywork.

Sure does... The VIN is identical to all those that I have seen down south as well. Same bike, just closer to the igloos thats all.

As far as I know the " Interceptor " moniker was only used in the USA in '83 ( late '82 ? ) to the uniquie to Nth America VF700F and was known as the VF750F in all other markets including Australia, when the VFR Gen 1 came out in Oz in '85 in the USA the Interceptor name was carried over from the VF700 to the VFR750 ...

My understanding is Honda used the name " Interceptor " to give the new to US only VF700 a cool Jet fighter feel. ( if not right please correct )

Guess we should have the 25th Anniversary badged Gen 7 VFR1000 in 2010....

Snake your picture has me very intrigued. I noticed some chrome or shiny bar ends ours are black. Can you add some full side front and rear shots of your bike to the photos section. Very curious to see what else is different.

The 25th badge is just fwd of the fuel filler cap on the tank. If your VIN# last 6 is 050008 then thats different as well. AFIK the RWB's over here the last 6 begin with a 9XXXXX.

With this type of variability who knows how many 07 RWB's were made...

I knew that the US release was tagged as a special 25th Anniversary Edition which I initially thought was specific to the US. It appears that Canada has received the same branding as well. I don't recall whether the '83 Interceptor was also released in Canada at the same time as the US. If so, then it makes sense that it is a North America release.

We got the Interceptors from 83 to 85. After that they were simply VFR's. No mention of Interceptor after 85. So really, the decal is wrong in Canada.

My neighbor has 86 "interceptor", and my co-worker has a Gen 5 which is labeled "interceptor". AFIK the Gen 4's weren't labeled interceptor. I'm not even sure if the Gen 3's were labeled interceptor. Guess they could be US models though...

I figure if a product was manufactured, regardless of where it was distributed it would still hold an anniversary no matter where it was sold. If the RWB had a 25th Anniversary in the USA tag then yep it's more specific. If the RWB's in Australia were 07 models then they are also 25th anniversary models of the original interceptor.

I'll call Honda and see what they have to say.

You're right, the 86 had Interceptor on the rear cowl. The gen5 your co-worker has does not have Canadian cowls on it. US side cowls said Interceptor, Canadian ones do not. Even the gen 6 does not say Interceptor.

My Gen 6 does. I'm confused cause all the other Gen 6's out here have interceptor as well. I am in BC though, not sure if that makes a difference. You can take a look at my photo's, my bikes there.

I called Honda Ca. Talked with a rep who stated that the bikes delivered in 07 to Canada were the same as the US. That comment made no sense because on their website they are stating all kinds of reasons to not run down to the US ans by your bike.

They are going to find a history buff to give me a call and sort out some issues. Maybe he will be able to say what is going on so we can actually begin counting.

I will ask my co-worker if he modded his bike, I know he bought it new... He wouldn't sell it to me

My Gen. 4 does not have the word "Interceptor" on it ANYWHERE. The '90-'96 service manual does not call it out as an Interceptor, either.
