    Ram mount for GPS questions

I received the Ram mount B-149Z, RAMB149ZGA26 is the number with the Garmin cradle and noticed that the holes don't quite line up with the front tank bolt mount holes. Anyone else mount to the front tank and have to file or drill the holes on the Ram mount a little bit to fit? This mount does come with the u-bolts for mounting to bars, but others have said this is the mount for the front tank as well.

Yes, that is the same one. The holes aren't far off but they don't match up exactly, about a half a hole off.

    Keep me posted!

Same problem. 1/2 a hole off. Mine works, but it doesn't look right and I just noticed it is loose.

is it upside down ? backwards did you flip it in all directions to line up the holes?? If after all that they don't line up, I would call and tell them or drill the hole in right spot put a washer under it and above it then tighten it should not move, but that sucks that they did not machine those to specifications................where there is a will there is a way good luck...

I installed one a year ago and had no problems. I will go back to my order info if I can find it and come up with a part number. I am at work now and do not have access, do not drill or mess with that piece it may be the wrong part.

I actually did return it and have them send another one, same thing. I know it's not actually meant for the tank mount but for the handle bars, others seem to have the holes line up exactly.

Looks like this is the part number that I ultimately ordered and have installed at the front of my tank:

    Mfg P/N: RAM-B-231-1U
    SKU: RAMB231-1

A link to GPScity part page: https://www.gpscity.com/item-ram-mou.../ramb231-1.htm

I went back to GPS city and checked my order history. Hope this helps

    Al

The holes in mine weren't quite exact (a little narrow), but it did fit without needing to re-drill. I did need longer bolts.

I finally gave up on the tank mount.

I ended up getting the RAM ball mount that inserts into the steering stem - the "ball" is offset about an inch - it's SO sweet having my (waterproof) Garmin 60csx GPS to help guide me on my journeys!

no problems with my tank mount

    I got mine a week ago. RAM-B-149ZU

Although I am curious what "ball mount for steering column" you are talking about. is it a ball mount that goes down in the center hole of the steering column where there is currently that black platic plug? can you share the part number?

    Thanks!

FYI - I have a Garmin Nuvi 765T and bought both the normal mount for it (RAM-HOL-GA26U), as well as the aqua box for it (RAM-HOL-AQ6U) It isnice to lock the aqua box and not have to take the GPS off the bike, but DAMN it is big. I REALLY like the size of the normal mount, but it does not have any way to lock the GPS to the mount.
