I just picked up my new '07 VFR 800 on Thursday, last week. It's exactly what I wanted. I have had different types of bikes and knew that my next one would be a v-twin or v-4, sport bike. I love the sound. I have been looking and just about pulled the trigger on a zx-14, not a v-twin or v-4, but a sweet deal...
...when I went to the Honda shop and saw the left over, '07 VFR. He put the right, or wrong, price on it and the rest is history.
Is it bad that I ordered a fender eliminator for it, before I actually took delivery? Modding is an illness. My 4-door family car has a cam and longtube headers. Did I mention that it has 2200 miles on it and it has been torn completely down to the shortblock? (Necessary to remove the AFM crap and replace valley cover, AFM lifters, etc.)
I hope to not get wrapped up in modding the crap out of this thing, because I have owned a Bandit 1200 and matching that thing with the VFR ain't happening. It was too much, if there is such a thing. I am not into bikes as much as I am into cars, but this is one nice bike.

sounds to me like you have already made up your mind :) Might as well order some sweet pipes, the pc3, O2 elliminators and schedule a custom tune. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride!
congrats on the bike and welcome to the madness

Congrats on your new VFR and welcome to VFRW!
Modding is addictive for sure. There's almost always something else you can see swapping out. But the nice thing is the even a bone stock VFR is a pretty damn good bike.
You could mod the hell outta your new bike, and you'd still have to catch up with some VFR owners. I "only" have about $1k in mods on mine, but it's mostly the usual basic stuff - matching OEM bags, Sargent seat, R&G frame sliders, Pazzo levers, PCIII and O2 eliminators.
Thanks guys.
I am just looking for a good way to clean the rear wheel, right now. I know how to clean a chain before I lube it, but what works on the wheel itself (the oil and brake dust build up)??? I have owned a few bikes, just looking for suggestions. This is my first brand new street bike, all others were used and I didn't detail them much.

The paint name escapes me, but it is the Red one of 07. As far as pics, I am a computer/camera idiot. Can't do it man. Don't know how. I'll have to have my kid show me. I am just a stupid cop.

Nice choice on the Viffer, you won't be disappointed. Welcome.
Cam, I just picked up a leftover glory red o7 myself. I modded the poo out of my 919 but after putting 300 miles on the viff I think it's almost perfect. Its kind of a bummer because I love MAKE IT MINE but this thing is good out of the box. I read a bunch of threads "saying the metz m4's sucked, so I rushed and ordered new Pilot road ct 2's...because I gotta trust it. After my 4th 60 mile road fest my chickin on the left is gone!! I just got the Roads but Ifeel like "doa" did I really need to spend $300 allready??

congrats on the bike, I just picked up my '07 about a month ago. curious, which fender eliminator did you get?
I've had my red 07 for a little over a year. I haven't really done too much in the way of mods, since I've been too busy riding it.![]()
Yes, I am. Yes, I have. No, you may not.

I bought my Dark Candy Red '07 back in '07. I have put in a K&N, fender elimiator and two brothers exhaust. I have also had some air brushing done.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. that way, when you judge him, your a mile further away and you have his shoes...
When I bought mine it is listed by Honda as Dark Candy Red. Glory Red just doesn't sound right.
I have been looking for the VFR decal as well.
Ahh he is from Auckland. they may come from the dealer with the decal.
Man, you make me homesick!! I am a Kiwi who has been exiled to the US for 33 years! I also bought a new 07 candy glory red, in march. BTW, is there any other color?? Not in my book!
Cheers
John.
