There is a God, and she rides a Veefer!

I pull off of Steeles and onto the Guelph Line this morning and just as I am winding it up in 2nd and doing 85 (60kph limit) I see two guys on the east side of the road and I take them to be part of the crew working on repaving the road. Wrong. Two cops and a radar gun. They let me ride past. I figure they’re looking for bigger fish to fry. Whew!

Second exit before mine on the 404 I’m in the far left lane and in my mirrors I see an OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) b&w coming up behind me. I check my clock and it’s registering 132. I am done like dinner for certain this time. I swing into the far right lane and about to pull off and hit my four ways when he rolls by. Ha, must be coming off shift! Thank you God! I roll in behind him and we both exit on Davis Drive. I follow him into the Tim Horton’s on the north side and he pulls off to the side. I figure he’s going to park there and go in and grab his coffee so I take a parking space. I get off the bike and the guy in a car next to the parking spot motions me over a says, “did you know that cop wanted to pull in here?” The cop finds a spot gets out of his car, & walks by I shrugged my shoulders and he just smiles. Doesn’t even reach for his Taser which is unusual recently around here anyway. 2x whew!!

I am going out at lunch and buying a lottery ticket.

It gets even better:

I am rolling home last night and cruising in the centre lane of the 404 southbound. I am doing my usual 125ish. Weather’s great and the traffic is weirdly light. Up beside me in the right lane pulls this silver (how come they are always silver?) Mazda 3. It’s pacing me which is a little hinky so I look over to see if the driver is a tuner type and is looking for a race which I am not about to indulge in. It’s turns out to be a 20-something devastatingly cute brunette who gives me a big smile and a wave. I am thinking: “do I know this chick from somewhere and in my “senior’s” brain her face is just not registering with me?” Anyway I give her what I think would be a typical cool F18 Hornet pilot nod and turn my attention back to the road. She keeps pacing me. My exit for the 407 is coming up so I flick on my signal roll off some throttle thinking she’ll scoot by and I can get into the far-right lane. Nope she matches my speed. So I look over at her again and she mouths: “I love your bike”. And boots in on by. Or I am pretty sure that’s what she said.

It is not because you are on diet that you can't read the menu. as long as you don't sample the menu, you are doing just fine...

The problem is the 20-something too-cute brunette sees this cool dude looking like a Top Gun in a full face behind a smoke shield on a very cool bike.

As long as I keep the helmet on the spell is maintained.

Mark in Pollock Pines. Lots of good roads here if you don't mind a little altitude.

Doesn't matter where you get your appetite as long as you are home for dinner!

I had this guy who drove a Coke Truck come up to me one time at Timmies. He said, "Every time I come in here I see you here." My reply to him was, "Funny, I was thinking the same thing."
