Bike written off by bad paint job?

I picked up this story also on the honda riders club site.

the story goes that the owner was riding down the road when approaching pick up truck ,that was going way too fast, lost 2 pails of paint, coming around a bend.
the resultant spill impacted the riders machine causing the damage pictured!

the rider emerged unharmed from the incident and the truck continued on oblivious to the 'loss of load'.
fancy cleaning up this mess then???

last but not least...the crime scene!

the verdict is still out on whether insurance will write it off.

footnote;

Thanks to 'der stuka for showing me how to post text in between pics.!

well, hell, it looks like the criminal left a trail to me. If we act fast we may track him down...

Anyone seen a pickup with aqua blue running down the bumper?

weve christened this bike "The green hornet".

it actually looks like it got a direct hit so the timing must have been inch perfect. 2 seconds either way and it would have been a miss!

Wow, that sucks. I had an 06 Hornet, fun bikes. But without the fairings, stuff gets everywhere. A lot easier to clean a bike with fairings. Bummer to whomever's bike this is. I bet a lot would come off with a pressure wash or steam clean. I couldn't see it getting written off. Cloud be cleaned for a lot cheaper than replaced.

Damn....that would royally suck! I cannot imagine trying to get all of that paint out of every nook and cranny without damaging the paint/plastic.

Must have been a pretty good rider to not go down. I would think that all that paint would be slippery. I'd never rest until I had found the SOB in the truck.
