Ed's Suzuki TL1000R stage 2 (Paint)

Finally in the base color. I have to admit a big V-twin super bike looks good red. And it's Damn RED

Great job, the paint looks nice. Any interest in another possible job, or is this one more of a favor?

PM me if you have any interest

I'm looking forward to how it sounds. I punched out the rear third of the pipe and cant refill the tank till its done and in clear coat because of fuel pump location.

That might be a good idea. We gotta get together and build a few prototypes and figure what to charge for them. Stop by my shop later in the week and we'll see what we can do.

OK, Started the white graphics and black fades. I'm nearly out of supplies and have yet to go get the clear/hard coat top paint.Waiting on cash to finish up. And to top it off may camera batteries are toast so pics are blurry. Hope its good 'nuff to show where its at.

placed some more stripes. will be adding some pinstripe today. Kinda just killing time waiting on another few bucks from the owner to cover clear coat & hardner to finish this beast!

The bar ends were scuffed up good, had some fake carbon fiber look on them, chucked them in the lathe and turned out the scuffs and polished them up a bit. Most paint & strips are done. will scuff them up a bit and get ready to clear everthing tiss week sometime when I'm free.

Well... i did'nt get any cash dropped off for the clear coat so I kept busy. Cleaned it up a bit, recovered the front seat & paited the rear caliper. Thats about it till i clear it and start assembly. Gotta finish up thse tail wiring and seal it all up, when the clear cures I can get fuel in the tank so I can tune the Power Commander. If I get the cash this week I can stop after work and get the supplies and have a shot at assembly on the weekend.
This wraps up "Stage 2"

You obviously do good work but the black and red colors clash a little too much for my taste. I'm also not a big fan of the diomond plate windscreen look.

Regards,
Rollin

True on the colors Rollin. Owners choice, OSU buckeye fan. the bike nick's name around here is "ghetto fabulous".The diamond plate on the screen helps cover the 10 inch crack imperfection/repair. The Owner didnt wanna spring for a double bubble that I recomended.

geez, a double bubble isn't that much. With all the work getting done to the bike, you'd think he'd spring for it. Looks great. If it were mine, though, I'd powder coat the rims and get rid of the chrome.

AMEN!!!! I voted Red rims and Black frame and swing arm! But I regress. If it was mine: Black and silver TRACK BIKE. But here I am. Anyway, I hope to get the clear coat on this weekend if he comes through. Get it back together and do the last repairs, tune it in and be done with it. But It has been fun in a self punishing kind of way.
