I believe that 100 hp is areasonable limit for any 'cycle less than 600 pounds, and understand that most will think i'm UNreasonable, and maybe i am. I'm not going to write my congressidiotperson to discuss the proposal, however
I've ridden my fastest bike to about 140, don't need more. What am i liking more about doing 172 on my buddy's RC 51 ??
Others are younger, braver, more daring, and more able to pay tickets, naturally, and the quest for unlimited horsepower seems bread into our jeans and with our inalianable bragging rights after all, as US Citizens !
Mine IS bigger!!! It's right here, this tall bulge on the graph !
Based upon a 100 hp limit, i believe the '94-'97 VFRs represent a clear evolution of design to a certain level and perform their intended missions equally well as heavyweight sport or lightweight touring bike, with proper upgrades .IMO.
Most of my riding is in town,so.....
I'd be able to DOUBLE the posted speed limit anywhere, anytime on my '88 VTR 250 in a city or a town, and @ 28 hp @45 mpg, so i wouldn't want to ride a heavy, high hp superbike that will never get out of 3rd gear? My ZX -14 would stay at home !! It's plenty enjoyable to ride a small bike hard, shifting with the revlimiter, but you'd best tip-toe that GSXR. My fantasy RC 30 would mostly stay in the garage while i rode my Hawk at mid-50's hp and 385# weight, an ideal bike in any city traffic.
Of course, of course if you're away OUT on the interstate, that's different......... or on a dragstrip........... or crossin' 'em west Texas plaaains --that you think mighIt neva -damn stop-- NEED them ponays..........like to 'scape from dat darn big 'ole torn-NA-doe a' rummblin' on up behine'......!!
As Americans it's our RIGHT to have whatever might be excessive be it it's wretched or not as long as we have the money.
NOW back to the TV............
