Things I'm grateful to vfrworld for

I changed my front brake pads the other day. I did my rear ones about a month ago. The rear were pretty worn, but the front were not too bad, though I changed them just the same in part for the practice. But this reminded me that the encouragement and information I needed to do this came from vfrworld. So here are a few things I am grateful for that are a direct result of vfrworld:

1.I ride atgatt. I use to ride a cruiser, and I dressed the part, except I wore a full-face helmet. Now I wear all the gear all the time.

2.I ride better. I use my body in my turns, hang off the bike when I should, keep my elbows bent (most of the time), keep my head up, and am much smoother on the throttle, yet I still ride within myself and get way more miles out of my tires than I care to say. I have plenty of room for improvement, but I have also made great progress by following some excellent advice I've found here.

3.I changed my brakes pads and installed my helibars from information I found on vfrworld.. My next goal is to do the chain and cogs, then the coolant and all the hydraulic fluids, and when the time comes do the clutch. I have always taken care of my bicycles, built them from scratch, built the wheels, etc., but working on the vfr is a whole new game and very satisfying. I really appreciate the generous sharing of information on this site.

4.I appreiate the entertaining stories. I'm a night owl, so it is great living on the east coast and getting all the west coast stories late into the night. There is nothing better than a funny rendition of a botched adventure with a happy ending to make you want to undertake one of your own. And the sun never sets on vfrworld.

5.I feel like the Dali Lama whenever I read some of the rants on vfrworld. I'm not the calmest guy on the face of the planet, but when I read some of these rants, I have visions of sainthood.

    Anyone else?

lets see ....what do I like about VFRW? I think its the goal that everyone has here..... the goal of world peace... peace and tranquility through motorcycles...one in particular the VFR..... the VFR is an amazing tool for therapy.. the V4 grumble that puts you into a hypotic state while riding says " fuck the rest of the world your with me and I'm one with the road". Now don't get me wrong...there are twits, dicks, assholes, butt munchers, and a few know it alls out here... but then again....who cares we are all bound together by one thing this bike....... "One Bike one World..."

or there is the other thought....This is a crazy house and I like eeveryone thats on here cause we all all just as nuts as the other guy.

oh yeah all the technical mumbo jumbo stuff is pretty cool too.

I am in the final strech of finishing an over year long project on my first honda. It has been a ground up build from a badly wrecked bike with a blown motor... Although I am no stranger to mechanics I gained an incredible amount of information from this site, especially as far as the best mods and parts to apply. Countless bits of mechanical knoledge from you guys have also been very usefull and even some excelent deals on parts have been presented to me. I would like to say thank you to VFRW and its members as being a top notch group and forum!

See, this is what I mean. You would have to hunt through reams and reams of speeches advocating for world peace and unity before you could find one that uses the phrase "butt munchers," nevermind one that would satisfy even a narrow proximity search.

I found this site when searching for a downloadable manual.
I must say I have found a great site with tons great info and people, a few of whom I have been riding with this season and a few more I talk to in chat that I am looking forward to meeting soon.
