been 10 years w/ the same 1995 vfr. probably time to graduate.
Hey can a gal get in here?? I started riding when ladies were thought of as "bad girls" if you rode a bike. And I was, for a time...LOL But that was in the '80's. Now I'm a grandmother of 7, and ride like a teenager!!
We will never get old, as long as we ride!

55 years riding 48 bikes. Will probably be buried with my favorite one.
The secret of a long life? Ride until they pry you off!
I have a friend who is 86...one eye...5 bikes...and rides them like
he stole them!
You remind me of Bert Monroe, A Kiwi who went to the Salt flats in the mid sixties after he had retired. He set a number of land speed records on an old Indian motorcycle he pretty much rebuilt by hand. He still holds one record today. They made a movie about him called The Worlds Fastest Indian. It was never in wide release but you can rent it. For motorccyle nuts its well worth a look. Pretty inspiring guy.
Keep the rubber on the road.

Are you kiddin? That movie is very popular over here with motorcycle enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike. very fun movie to watch. It really has you rooting for him by the end. He was quite the ladies man, too. It's a real hoot.Originally Posted by grinder
Oh, since I went off topic I'll veer back into the right lane... I have been riding around 30 years and have owned around a dozen bikes both on and off-road.

i have been riding 43 years .i am in ne oklahoma and would like to get a spring ride to th e grand canyon in the spring .anybody interested
Been riding 23 years starting at 10 with a honda ct70 that I ended up bringing home to Japan in 1989. It stayed there with a dealer who was interested in the novelty of a bike that crossed the Pacific twice. Took my MSF course on base there at 17. I've been riding mostly small bikes till now.
I hope to ride this one for the next 23.

I've been riding for about 10 years. 1982 Magna, 1983 Interceptor, 1994 VFR750, 2002 954RR.
You are all still bad girls! (Thank God).Originally Posted by bike51

I started riding in November '99.
I'd been using public transport to get to wherever I needed to go, but the lead up to the 2000 Olympics changed things. There was a lot of work being done on the train network, with busses substituting for trains fairly frequently. When you only have 12 hours between shifts to get home, eat, sleep & then get back to work, the last thing I needed was extra travel time.
A friend was a instructor for a bike training company, he convinced me to have a go. And I'm still riding...

Im a born again rider, so not sre what to pick ;)
Judging by the poll numbers, it looks like I have some "senior" company. Been riding for over 40 years now, .... and just can't stop, .... even if I could remember how.
...............does anyone "know" what a cushman "eagle" is?.....thats what i had for first wheels.....
Hey is this the VFR website or an online Nursing Home - lol just kidding. I am no spring chicken either, but I can still ride and enjoy riding too much to stop because of age. I will probably still be involved with some aspect of motorcycling even after I am too old to ride (not that that will happen). I have rode crusiers for a little over 10 years and I am still new to the Sports bike world - I love the performance and will find a way to add some chrome to my VFR. The only thing that getting older has done to effect my riding is to make me more aware of my health (eating properly and exercise). Oh yeah, I have started getting my vision checked yearly (Helps to be able to see where you are going sometimes.). Getting older has also made me more interested in helping the younger guys learn how to ride correctly and safely. Anyway see you old guys on the road!!!
People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care!!!
So true, trying to avoid that.
Keep the rubber on the road.
It's good to see that we seniors are leading the way! Now if I can just find my glasses...
Wow! I had never stopped to think about it but I have been riding for 33 years both dirt and street. Now to get my 7 year old son riding....
44 years worth of riding and racing...

You only need to have had one bike in my case then.Originally Posted by Saint_Craig

Just chimmed in,
been riding since 68 (40 years )& will be riding until I can't !!!
Racing dirt since 8 (parents didn't know I had a bike & I forged there signitures on the entry forms). Raced superbike 86-91 @ Willow Springs & a few other tracks.
Started racing this year after the long break (had many track day's & years between) at the new Miller(superbike & super-moto) raceway in Utah, & planning to run Bonniville salt flats this year during speed week (going for 200 plus on a modified RC51).
My 2yr old son is already riding, 16yr old daughter been riding since 3yrs old, & the wife rides. so this old rider has 2 more Gens right in tow !!!!
I've been riding since 1969 when I got my first powered contrivance. A new Honda CT-70 Mini Trail. At least 40 bikes later, I'm still riding. (Down to 4 bikes in the garage right now! A record!)
Been ridin 41 plus years since I was 4. 1st bike was a purple Ran-Jet Chopper mini-bike my dad purchased from the local speed shop. Had too many bikes to count them all. Rode both dirt and street. Still do. Down to two now-one street (4th Gen) and one dual-sport. Live to ride.....ride to live.
Wow - some real experience here!
Roughly 50% of responders have 20+ years!
I thought I was doing pretty good, but compared to some of you guys I feel like a rookie!
25 years road riding, about 400,000 miles at best estimate, and almost every road, traffic and weather condition one could imagine.
Even made my living on a motorcycle for a couple years.
I actually first swung a leg over a minibike at about age 9, so altogether call it 33 years of piloting motos.
I don't even own a cage of any kind right now; I cycle-commute on two wheels by moto or self-propelled, year-round.

I clicked Bratwaust, but have been riding longer.
For me .. 38 years.
Started when my older brother put an old refrigerator motor into a frame and we would ride it up and down the driveway (that was the length of the power lead lol)
I can only think of two times that there wasnt a bike or two in the garage.
I'm a junior member. I'm still riding. Rode 100 kms on Sunday afternoon at 4 degrees C. (40 F). Uphill both ways. Nitrogen in my just checked tires. High beams on in the middle of the day. Suited up to the nuts. Stock '02 with a windshield mode. Next April will mark 49 years of riding. I'm still in one piece and having a blast. I never ride that I don't think how fortunate I am to be sitting on this wonderful machine. If you could see past my full coverage helmet you'd just see a big smile. As a junior member you may think some of my comments are somewhat negative. Not that I make many. But you do need to be cautious and safe. Enjoy the ride and the "ride". Hope I can make many more years. And you guys too.
