OzVFRer's - FYI OzVFR Server is down

FYI to those VFRWorlders who also lurk on OzVFR.net please note the Server is currently down.

Happy Admin is said to be " not happy Jan " as it seems the Hosting site who manage the server hasn't been making backups with possibly a few months of quality OzVFR banter lost.

Will update when more is known.

OzVFR site Update:

Those OzVFRer's on the OzVFR.net email list please note it is back online but anyone that registered since Nov 2006 may have to re-subscribe when the site becomes available.

Happy Admin is still working to recover the OzVFR Site itself but news is not great, the OS company Hosting the server is sending the HD back to Oz to try and recover the more recent Forum banter.

I just checked the forum page, it has a message that it is being worked on.

OzVFR site Update: Excellent news.

Hooray OzVFR is back online, as previously statused it has lost some 2 months Forum banter since the last good backup, hopefully some of this will be recovered once the crashed HD arrives.

Not as unhappy as "happy admin" who is using his own free time to piece things back together again after finding the rented Cyberspace Hosting site hadn't performed any backups.

One of you aussies registered on the ozvfr forum might want to pass on it is impossible to register there!

I was referred to that forum a few months ago and tried to register, then and a fist full of times since. At present the code generator doesn't work

soooo, it is impossible for me to even contact them about the problem.
Prior to the code thingie being on the blink they were supposed to email me with the registration details, twice, but never did

As this thread mentions the OzVFR server had a total failure and the Hosting company hadn't been making backups there are still some issues where voluntary admin is rebuilding and relocating the Server to a new Location.

The other issue has been a " member " hacked and crashed the Server last year around the same time www.vfrdiscussion.com was hacked and crashed, obviously Admin is now cautious about new member requests.

I was on OZVFR earlier this morning, no problems from my end.
