Trojan Replacement mirrors w/t LED integrated signal lights
Ops I did it again!
Last thursday I bough a set of trojan replacement mirrors(Ebay) for my precious. I really like the look of the trojan mirrors cuz they have the same countour as the 6th Gen VFR(somewhat triangular) instead of the OEMs round things. I recieve them today and went just now to fit them to my bike. This is what I encounter. - The base of the trojans are not the same fit as the OEMs, but they have adjustable screws. Since I had the OEMs, I used the OEM mounts with the rest of the trojan mirrors. The OEM mounts have a hole already where you can base the hole that u need to drill on the bike fairing to run the wires. - Need to drill a hole in between the 2 treads where the mirrow mount go(this is on the bike itself and need to remove the OEMs). The wires from the trojans lights are long enough to reach the front signal lights. - Even though the whole mirror(mount, stem, and mirror) looks smaller, the actual mirror element is wider and longer than, OEMs. - Look awesome after installed. I need to get some splicers for the wires, that way the connection will be more reliable. I'll be doing that tomorrow. As soon as I connect everything. I'll post some pics of the mirrors on the bike. Here is 2 pics of the mirrors alone.

Finally I completed the installation of the mirrors yesterday. I ended up not using the splicers like I had planned. Instead I removed the bulbs wiring harness and ran the wires trough the connectors. The only thing I regret is that they come on only when you activate the signal light (they don't stay on all the time). I love the look
Here are some of them installed.

Damit Yoda...Now on what them. You're killin me.
They look sharp. I would have been nervous as a cat in a room full of rockin chairs drilling into the fairing. Again, I like it. Makes the bike look more aggressive.

Believe me Ben, I checked what was behind the fairing before I drilled, There was only a metal support for the mirrors. I almost messed up my car like a week after I bough it cuz I drilled a hole to run the wires for my audio amplifier. The hole was like a mm short of the car wiring harness.

Looks amazing!
A couple of questions... 1) you said you did not use the bases that came with the mirrors. Instead, you used the OEM bases. Could the bases that came with the mirrors still be used if one did not want to use the OEMs? 2) if you wanted the mirror lights to be on all the time, why didn't you wire them to the headlight or something else that had power all the time the key was in? Great mod. I'm considering it for my 4th gen. Ebay says they fit a vfr 90-97 but your comment on the base is making me think twice.

On the picture above you can see the mirror with the base that came with it. this base has a rubber cover that hides the signals wires. Since I used the OEM base, i removed the trojan base+cover. After I removed the cover, I noticed that there wire was going to be visible in plain view, in other words the wire comes out from the stem top(more visible), than the bottom(less visible). Also I compared the 2, OEM and Trojan position, and the way that I installed them resembles the position where the OEMs used to be. If I put them the way the pic shows I''ll be too high. I did the change on the base cuz the, trojan base is too long. Didnt look natural, it looked like I wasnt part of the bike. On the light issue. I wanted for the lights to work as signal light + marker light. The wiring on the trojans is red and white(+ and -).On the bike signal lights, theres 3 cables, orange or blue, orange/white or blue/white, and green(+, -, and ground). I tried to bridge the wires with no luck(I ended up blowing a fuse). So I gave up on it. I'll stick with the signal light.

do I have to drill holes? any chance of running the wires thru the holes for the bolts that hold the mirrors?

I had to drill a hole only to run the wires.
