Valentine 1 install on 4th gen

I just finished installing a mount for the V1 on my bike. I took some pics to
document the install.

For power, see my other thread about installing a fuse panel:
Fuse box installation on 4gen

I have a stem techmount to hold the Zumo.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and go to the fencing section.
Get one of these plates. they go for $0.60 cents

Other things to get while you are there...
flat black can of Rust-oleum
velcro straps
velcro pad

Bend the plate as needed and paint it black
DSC02149 (Small).JPG

Using a dremmel tool, cut an opening on the metal to secure the velcro strap.
(you don't want the radar to fall off, do you?)
DSC02150 (Small).JPG

Attach the velcro pad and install the new piece to the set up.
DSC02152 (Small).JPG

Now attach the velcro strap.
DSC02153 (Small).JPG

Attach a piece of velcro to the bottom of the Radar and secure it.

That's it!!!

Cheap solution and I hope it will keep me from getting another pair of tickets.

This set up seems to block the dashboard almost entirely. Do you find this to be the case?

Yes it does.
It blocks my view of the tach and the clock.
I can see still see my speed, temp, and gas.
A little leaning of my head and I can see all but the clock.

I finally had the chance to test the install.
Well, there was some vibration on the V1.
The metal plate is too thin and the weight of the V1 makes it bounce a little.
Not too much but enough for me to send me back to the drawing board.
I'll just get another plate. Same size but thicker.
