6th Gen ABS Brake Job
The service manual makes changing brake pads sound way too easy. Are there any gotchas that one needs to look for while changing front and rear pads?

Never changed them on an ABS model. But my 04 is pretty easy and straight forward. If you can do them on a car, you can do them on your bike. Just try not to pull/push and of the brake levers with the calipers off the rotor. Good luck.

This is interesting and I wonder!!! My friend here has a 1999 and when he changed his front pads, they were tending to rub on the discs. So much so that he had to take them out again and file them down. He followed the manual (haynes) word for word but we couldn't figure out where he had gone wrong.

Sounds like you didnt compress the calipers all the way or you got the wrong pads to me. I sure could be wrong however and it would not be the first or last time.
