98 VFR800 Partout
As the title says I'm parting out my 98 vfr800. I bought the bike 3 years ago with the intent of restoring it but after 3 years I am giving up and parting the good parts. All of the plastics are no good except the rear cowl which is in great condition but will have to be repainted due to a custom color that was sprayed on. The bike has approx 15k miles. The front fairing stay and rear tail stay are brand new, they have been installed but the bike has not been riden since. Lemme know what parts you guys are looking for.

What is wrong with the bike; why are you parting it out? Where are you located?

Well I'll give you guys a quick story on the bike. I bought it 3 years ago from a friend that had laid it down in a turn and broke every piece of plastic, and bent both front a rear fairing stays. I got the bike from him with the intentions of fixing everything and riding her. I repaired/replaced all of the plastics and the bike was coming along nicely. Well when I moved the bike got dropped and the front fairing broke in half and the headlight cracked. I did have the bike running but I didn't start it for a while and didn't notice that I was extremely low on fuel. I tried to start it for a while and couldnt get it to fire over and noticed there was some gunk/trash in the gas tank, I got that cleaned out and still wouldnt fire. After all of this I didn't realize that the back of the gauge cluster was cracked and moisture got in a fried the cluster so I'm giving up on it. O and I live in wilmington, nc. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Damn, I wish I saw this earlier! I bought a rear faring (which I am going to have to repaint anyway), mirrors, and combination light off of ebay. Ugh.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll need some more parts - what about the passenger grab handles, and windscreen? Also, if you're ditching the plastics I could probably use the bolts/screws that are used to attach the plastics to the bike if you could spare them. Whoever owned this bike before me has a mish mash of random bolts which kinda scares me, I'm gonna have to tear through it and check everything for safety sake. I'm sure I'll have more (and might need your mirrors if the ones I get from ebay don't fit) so I'll get back to you. |

I could really use an ignition switch and key. Mine is starting to give me trouble where it will not turn (on). I tried my spare new key and it does the same thing so I am sure it is the switch. If you can part with it, PM me what you would want for it. Thanks,

Sorry man I don't have any of the parts your asking for, all of my bolts are the same as yours, all missmatched, and the grab handles and windscreen were broken.

Where are you located at?
I would be interested in several parts that I'm looking to powdercoat. Would rather buy spares instead of my bike being down. Some parts I'm looking for: - hanger and pegs (front and rear) - top triple clamp - front turn signals if remotely close, possibly front forks (atleast the lowers) and swingarm Just let me know. -Tommy |

Of the parts listed I do have the full triple clamp assembly, full front forks and the swingarm. I live in Wilmington, NC and work at a Commercial HVAC Wholesaler so if you need these items shipped I get a discount. Lemme know. Thanks, Jason. |
