save up your money over the winter and buy used VFR. Cash is the only way to go. Don't use credit for a bike. You'll lose every time.

Sorry to say it, but I agree with these guys. Unfortunately "pleasure" items such as motorcycles are normally harder to get loans for that something like a car that is deemed necessary, but now its even harder.
Your best bet is to save as much as you can, especially over the winter, and try to purchase a used one before the next riding season starts and the prices go way up. If you still want a loan at that point, try going to a credit union. Most are very easy to become members of. Use LOTS of cash as a down payment.

They do personal loans for the credit challenged. Might try them. OR....... go on ebay, buy a titled frame, engine, and build your own. Hell, you could have a 97-99 running for $2000. And you can pick and choose the parts you want! |

I wouldn't rule out some drug-dealing on the side...

Joey always has advice, it may not be good sound advice, but its advice...
Cash is the way, I agree with Reg and others. BZ

How to do it
Get a second job, work your A$$ off, and negotiate a cash deal for the bike you want. Do a keyword search on Cycletrader using the words "wife" or "baby" and you will find people desperate to sell at a favorable price.
