Wanted: Left side Cover for '78 CB750F

I know this is a long shot but I'm hoping that there is someone on here that has a junker with side covers. They are pretty rare and pretty expensive to buy them from eBay. Paint doesn't matter and cracks are negotiable. It is the last thing I need for my CB project before I paint. Please help!

What year are you looking for? Are you looking for a twin cam? I am rabidly searching and I seem to find everyone other than my year for cheap. If we combine forces and add a little slick50 we might be able to get this thing done. No slick50 on the buttcheeks please.

There is no longer such a thing as cheap k side covers.
However, Maier still sells aftermarket side covers that aren't too ugly.

I'm not looking for a "k" side cover. Im looking for an even more elusive "f" cover. The left side is where all of he electric stuff is mounted so it is the one that people always break. I would have better luck finding a virgin on this forum.

I slipped on a puddle of Slick50 and landed on my side cover, with my butt-cheek.
Single cam '78 750 F, left one.
Same one you're looking for I think.
Pretty sure '75-'78 are all the same other than logo and colors.

80-100 plus shipping. Crap.
They are still vintage and egg shell brittle too.

I called maier and they said that they don't fit. I will buy one just to see if it does. I think they are all the same. It's ashame that I don't have a bunch of the bikes around to compare. Mental note: buy one of each year and store in garage. I'm taking donations for my museum, by the way.

Bring it on Homefry.

That's exactly why E-Pay made all the bidders names scrambled.

It's cheaper looking for an entire parts bike on CL.

I'll keep you in mind if I find more than one.

They are available on eBay from a UK company, about $42 each plus around $8 shipping to the US. I bought one for my '78 F a few months ago. They are reproductions but very solid and fit well. Seller is kwakyracer. Here's one: CB 750 F2 LH Side Panel on eBay, also Honda, Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Parts Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 13-Dec-08 16:35:37 GMT)

'75-76 F1 Side covers are not the same as the '77-78 F2. F1 covers bolt on, F2 pop on a few times in rubber grommets until they break then you zip tie them on.

Capn'

Thanks for the link, gonna get me some.
A NOS pair in the box just sold on E-pay for close to 6 bills.
For what I'm doing the ones you found are perfect.

I'm thinkin' I gotta disagree on the older '75 SS side covers bolting on though.
The K models did bolt on but the SS still snapped on.
My SOHC is a '78 and I'm going on what I've seen from others, not first hand.

Here's a few pix.

This one was listed as a '75 CB 750F

This guy posted as 1975 CB 750F and has lost his side cover too, nice bike.

These were sold as '75 750 SS, got 261 for them. Wow.

Yeah, you're right, got my K's and F's mixed up. Good luck with the bike!

Seidts, did you get a price on painting your bike? I need to get mine painted too and was getting crazy quotes.

I got one quote from an auto body guy of $300 for the tanks and side covers. I guess it's not too bad but I am going to do it my self. My dad just gave me his paint setup. Looks like I'm in the piant business boys!
Hey Johnny, That first pic is either a 75 or 76. You can tell by the front brake. '77 and up had dual disc front. I still don't know about the side covers. I joined the sohc four forum and I'm finding a bunch of dorks. Not good dorks like like v-4 owners but downright annoying people. The website is nothing compared to this site. This site has the best forum that I've seen. Thanks to the creators.
But alas, no side cover yet........
