MY 86 VFR, for sale, above average condition
YouTube - 1986 VFR Interceptor
1986 Honda VFR 750R for sale: (located in southern ontario, canada, near toronto) If you are looking for that rare, close to mint condition, almost bone stock 86 VFR, then this is THE one! -Owned since May 2003, meticulously maintained for the past 5 years. - only 63 K kms (that’s an average of only less than 3K kms per season) this is considerably low mileage compared to every single other 86 VFR I’ve seen/met on the road. But, if you’ve done your research, you’ll know that these motors are bulletproof and good for a very VERY long time, if maintained properly. A friend has one with over 80K, another with over 180K!, met another with 140K on his (original owner) and another fella I met in the states with over 140K also… they all ran like clocks! All this motor needs are oil changes and valve adjustments! I’ve heard of many that have reached over 100 K miles! - Exhaust: yoshimura 2 into 1 from the collector back, sweet, sweet music! I paid way too much for this pipe, it boiled down to a battle on ebay after I searched for over 2 years! (I still have the original pipes and centre stand which had to come off to fit the yosh) - plastics are all in almost excellent shape (except for a few scuffs and minor small cracks, it’s rare to find one in the shape this one is). Has solo seat cowl which is highly sought after. - seat is in amazing shape, no tears, no fading from the sun - Maintenance: - 5K oil changes with motul semisynthetic since 2003 / OEM filters - valves adjusted 2 seasons ago, along with carbs re/re, yosh install/rejet, new plugs - dynoe’d on a heavy barrel at 86hp…smooth torque curve to red line (except for a slight dip at 3Krpm due to jetting), no smoke (there’s never smoke)…it’s torquey as hell! - battery new 2 seasons ago (always trickle charged/distilled water added over the off season) - chain/sprockets changed 3 seasons ago, chain is due, but sprockets in good shape - fan bypass switch done 3 seasons ago. Works perfectly. - tires are due for a change, but I had plans on doing the f2 rear f1 front swap so I currently have an f1 front rim (CBR 600) and a spare rear brake caliper bracket. - the white 17” F1 front rim is a straight bolt on swap that also uses the same rotor, so you have better tire options over the 16” stock front rim. sad for me that’ll I’ll never see/ride this bike with it. - I’ve tried the metzlers ME 55 rear/ME 33 front and the Dunlop GT 501’s. both are great tires, little more stick with the metz’s but they wear fast, dunlops are just fine for spirited rides and long trips. - bike always starts on the first try, purrs when it idles, and revs with no hesitation through all the gears . . . and it hauls a$$! You will never be left behind on this bike! - The bike simply runs perfectly, needs nothing but oil changes and valve adjustments, keep up with maintenance and you WILL see 200K kms! - Head bearings inspected this summer and they are fine, no “clunks” in the middle (but I also have new tapered head bearings ready when it’s due) - Comes with a spare tank!! In mint shape that came from an 86 VFR with only 11K kms! MINT! The PO replaced his b/c it was slightly rusted inside when he bought the bike (the bike was out of the box mint)..so he bought the last tank that Honda had in n. America (according to him), and I bought his “old” one. All it needs is a tank flush, must see! You WILL get top $$$ for this tank if you sell it, I guarantee! Extremely hard to find! Even if you swap it for the original tank cuz it’s in better shape, you will still get good $$$ for the old tank. Asking: only $2500 as is with: - mint spare tank - F1 front rim - Extra rear caliper bracket - New head bearings - Rear pads (if I can find them!) - Honda SHOP manual - Original brochure - New OEM clutch lever - 3 original magazines from 1986 featuring this bike (pinning it against the FZ750 and GSXR 750, nice read) (should only need tires, maybe front pads and chain to certify, all lights work) - an 86 in this shape only comes around once in a while, if you want a very clean, perfectly running original VFR, with a hard to find 2 into 1 Yoshimura exhaust, then this is it! - reason for selling: gonna take a break from riding. I will regret selling this bike… Let the pics do the talking…. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() email: tumble_weed750@hotmail.com bike is in the Greater toronto Area, Ontario, Canada, 2 hours from the buffalo, NY border. resources: BikePics - 1986 Honda VFR 750 Home Page on BikePics.Com HondaVFR.org: Home (cool! just noticed, that's my VFR in the front! lol! i organized an 86 meet, brought my buddy Andreas/RIP, Franko, and forgot the other guys name, on this forum too. small world. for sure Franko entered that shot) check here for wheel upgrade HondaVFR.org: Upgrades thanks for looking. i hear ya emptyskull! been too busy tho. but the bike cleans up nice. my plan was to find time to clean it and take it outside for a nice brighter shot. no armorall on the seat, never have.
yep, gotta spend a few hundred on regular maintenance stuff. good condition 86's usually fetch just under 3 grand, at least last i checked, but those only come once in a while... lots of $1500/1800 beat up ones i see here in no where near as good a shape as this one. the spare tank is worth $$$ (i'll take a pic of that next...), let alone the yosh pipe. |

I will also throw in front and rear stands. the yellow ones from canadian tire, the front stand fits the bike perfectly ( i know some of the newer bikes don't fit, this one just needed longer bolts to slide in under the fork). |
