1984 VF1000F parts for sale

Hello everyone,
some months ago i tried to post this thread on this site and barely got it posted before unfortunate events struck my family. now that time has passed I am again posting that my bike and nearly enough engine parts for a second engine are for sale. For the bike, the engine is removed from the frame and sitting on my bench. I do have pictures and will be posting them as soon as someone can tell me how to do so on this site. (HELP :)

A couple of you had replied to my previous thread and i was unable to respond then. to these people i apologize and will be emailing an apology to them shortly. These two individuals will get first dibs because of this. I have no set prices on any of these parts so any and all offers will be considered seriously. I live in the 92376 zip code. i would prefer local pickup but will be willing to arange shipping for any part you like.
Thank you and safe riding out there.

What's the history on the motor? Was it running before you removed it? How much are you asking for everything?

Is the bike really 125 years old?

the history of the bike and motor is that I am the third owner. my father had it before me and his best friend before him. the engine was indeed running before i pulled it out. however it was hurt, thus the reason i was pulling it out to find out the problem. the number 3 connecting rod big end bearing suffered a low oil condition and developed a tick. i say "tick" and not "knock" because the noise was very faint and could only be heard under heavy load. but i'm real particular about the noises in my vehicles so i decided to pull it anyways. the rest of the bearings in the engine bottom end are in good shape and the cylinder head camshaft journals still appear to be in good shape. likewise to the cylinder bores themselves. as i stated before i have no set price for it all. i simply do not have the economic means to restore it the way it deserves to be done. i want to help someone else make their VF run good or better rather than take the bike to some salvage yard to rot away in a field. so make a fair offer for what you would like.

Good luck with the sale. The exhaust and fairings are pretty rare so you should get a few $$ here or on eBay. Also post up to the Yahoo VF1000R group, VF1000R : Motorcycles, Manufacturers, Honda, VF1000R

I'd like a '84 1KF but really want a complete running bike.

No price? How will you sell it?

I would rather buy an engine that is all together with all the bolts and little pieces. etc.

Read the previous post by vfrcapn. see what I mean.
Who wants to go on an easter egg hunt for all the matching parts on EBAY.
IT is much better to SELL a complete bike or BUY a complete bike.

What if another person buys part of it, and then that person cannot find the parts to complete the project. BAD IDEA.

I would at least put all the parts from one engine (including all the bolts) into a box and sell it with the rest as a complete bike. Matter of fact that previous inquiry by vfrcapn may accept buying a WHOLE bike IF you keep all the parts together. You could offer a complete bike with title (GOT TO HAVE THAT), and all the bolts nuts etc that go with it so they do not have to go on an easter egg hunt to get ONE special engine mount bolt.

Remember forum members in most states you cannot register a bike OR frame without a title.
You cannot sell it without a title either. Without a title you have nothing.

i thought the pics and explanation were enough. my apologies. if you look at the 11th picture you will see a wide angle shot of all the engine parts i have offered for sale on the floor. in the same picture you will see in the background a complete engine as well. this is the engine i pulled out of the bike that is shown in my later pictures. so i have both a bike rolling chassis and engine, as well as a cache of separate engine parts for sale as well. im sorry if i was not clear enough the first time i wrote this. please keep the comments and questions coming, this is helping me a lot.

I should have emphasized the "running", not so much "complete". After doing a few similar projects like this the last few years (1000F, 1000R) I just want a running bike that doesn't need major assembly. Someone will be along to buy it, try Craigslist also, that's where I found both my VF1000 project bikes.

no confusion on my part looking it over I saw : engine parts for sale........a rolling chassis for sale with an engine (complete) needing to be re-installed... nicely done with ALL the pictures.. seemed a pretty good write up to me.
