86 750 parts bike

A strange think has happened. I think I have changed my mind. I just dont know if it is going to be worth it to repair (it just needs to much shit!). Might be to somebody else? I can just put a grand with the money i was willing to spend and buy a hell of alot more bike. I am thinking of saving a little longer and getting an rc51 instead. I will try and get pics up to see if there is any interhest. It has a good motor with 36,000 miles and all rear suspension/ wheels are good and strait. Front tubes are bent but rotors and wheel good. Have seat with cowl, both side panels (not lowers). 500.00 sound fair?? Oh yea...clean title!!!

Just affraid it will be a major money pit to repair. It will take every bit of 1-2 grand to repair it correct. Ideal if someone had the parts and needed a rolling chassis with a good motor! Needless to say tired of looking at it in the basement. I will scrap after the first of the year (take to dump)

So, you're going to scrap it? And yet you're asking $500 for what's left of it. I'll take the left side inner dash panel(if it's not damaged) the side covers and rear seat cowl, unless it's rashed. How much? If you're reasonable i may take a couple of other pieces.

The bike is mine as long as the title is clean - Brett please don't sell any parts yet.

Thanks!

Whats your definition of reasonable?? I work on bikes for a living and I thought 500 for everything was. I know vintage bikes as well and would hate to just scrap it but I will NOT give it away. I have quotes from people here for the parts needed to repair and it is around 1000-1500 for everything (thats doing the 17 wheels and 900rr front)! 500 for a good motor, wiring, extra set of wheels, seat with cowl, side covers and a million other parts is not bad I thought. I guess I was wrong....sorry.

Yes, it is crystal clean!

Dont worry I wont sell anything off of it. I would much rather sell the whole thing instead of part it.

I'm glad someone is going to grab it. There are plenty of parts on E-bay. It'd be a shame to scrap it. I'd go get it myself if I40 wasn't closed.

With all due respect. That's exactly what i was getting at. If no one was willing to take it off your hands in it's current condition, you should part it out and help out some of the members here. I know it's kind of a pain but better than a dump.

Brett, replied again to your email, thanks.

When was the bike last run? Were the carbs drained when it was parked? Thanks!

Oh I will be happy to help anyone here. I would still like to have a vfr. I just think a newer one would suit me better. I know vintage bike like I said and could not bring myself to just scrap it. Hence holding on to it for so long in anticipation of fixing.

Nov. 2007, no........it has been inside in temp control though. I was planning on going through the carbs because i could never get my sis to let me have the bike long enough to get it done.
