1997 price?

Hello, I'm thinking about getting a great looking 1997 vfr750. It's got less than 14000. The tire look a little old, but still have some life in them. I got the seller down to $3000. Is this a good 'deal'?
thanks

Depend on the bike condition, The plastic look good, The engine is clean no oil leak, sprocket and chain, is the title clean......etc does it come with any after market items?
If all the above are good I said $3000 is a fair price.

2002 HONDA VFR 800

Bike prices around here are in the toilet....that would be a bit much for one around here.....I have seen three gen 6's under 4000 in the last couple of weeks.

Like Long said, it depends on the overall condition. If it checks out, $3K is ok, although not a screaming deal. You could probably get a 5th gen for that price, but maybe you're lusting for the 4th gen (1997). Maybe the bike is worth $2750, but is it worth losing out on the bike (if you really like it) over $250?

$3000 for a low milage 4th gen with clean plastics is a good deal. I would be happy with that. Opinions will vary on what it is worth, however at the end of the day, a few hundred either way will not make a difference, because you are going to love the bike. Low milage 4th and 5th gens are becoming harder to find these days. I say buy it.

Hey, put a little squeeze on him. Tell him you like it but are concerned about the old tires. Ask him to take off $300 so you can buy a new set of tires.

Well, he was asking $3500 for it, so I already got it down some.
I'm having him take it to a shop, where I'll pay to have it checked out and see what the shop says.
