If you could post a link to this it would be great!

I am having alot of trouble getting a manufacturer to even consider a run of these as we are still in the 100 units range - they want to make a couple thousand.

I have not given up on it yet, especially seeing how many want one, but if there are units on Ebay great... checking right now actually.....Earliest one I can find is a '94...I wish it was that easy.

OK, well let me call them again and let them see how many need this for themselves. Keep the faith!

I gave up and bought Danimals tall blue one. This is

the same kind of deal I was trying to get started with regard to getting a run of Airtech "RC 30" race tail light cowl/seat reproductions made for the 2nd gen; or get a reproduction 2nd gen VFR form made and have a run of stock tail light cowls made for reasonable cost and keep running them off for the members that need them. Herding cats again. Not enough urgency, not enough takers, to get sufficient critical mass to start the ball rolling. Good luck. We are a divided lot, so the replacement aftermarket plastics industry has us divided, and conquered. I'm glad I bought Danimals Rifle windscreen when the opportunity arose. I'd be glad if a decent taillight cowl fell in my lap too and I could just turn away from the rest of the "world" and gloat "I've got mine, the devil take the rest of you, full speed ahead."

It's a real problem. There is no leadership regarding the future of 1st and 2nd Gen. While the 5th and 6th ers squable over insignificance, the origins that made VFR an institution are dwindling as each abandoned 1st and 2nd gen gets plowed under. When the plastic gets so expensive or hard to find that no one will want to drive the bikes for fear of scratching their museum pieces, the bike will essentially shrivel up and die in the hands of a bunch of "Monte Burns" type collectors. Noone will look for windshields or fairings or hard parts because no will want the bikes for riding. The best remaining bikes will be culled out and the rest scrapped. Noone considers the microeconomics of this little economic community called VFRWORLD? Everybody for themselves. Every bonehead spends hours trying to prove he knows whats happening and what the score is, but nobody listens to the other guy wondering why yesterday he could go on line and find a thermostat for $18 and today the same thing is $22. That yesterday he could find a rear cowl for $130 but today he has to wait 3 months and it costs $280. That in this world filled with junked VFR parts he has to pay $300 to a junker down on the Mexican border or $175 to another junker in Sacramento for the same 25 year old used plastic widjit. That all this posturing and profit taking out of a dwindling market is only serving to cut their own balls off and hurry in driving the vintage VFR market into oblivion. I hope all the profiteer junkers and the "charge what the market will bear" A-holes in this tumbling economy end up with plastic to eat at suppertime. VFRworld 'll turn into a club for crotchety old men who take their bikes to the Y parking lot for hotdogs and BS on Saturday afternoon and then carefully put their VF?s back in the garage for a few months storage, if they survive that long , and themselves to bed in preparation for church the next morning. 5th and 6th ers gradually lose touch with the reality of their roots and enshrine the first and second gens but not know what they were because only Saints and the well to do are allowed to drive them with their powering ABS fairings. When the owners die their museum pieces pass into the hands of some ingrate grandson, distant cousin or neighbor kid and end up like the VF750 in the recent thread about a prostrate "handed down" cycle with its carbs in the dirt, looking for a buyer but headed to the bone yard. New, newer, newest, bigger, better, greater, forget the past so you can make the same mistake over and over and over, meanwhile, you screw your fellow rider out of a few piddling plastic powder puff pieces of poo. Run run run right into the graveyard of the putrescence of your own making. Your windshield cracks, your fairing crumbles, your chain stretches, your gear strips, piston scores, valve seat loosens, tank empties, seat rips, seal leaks, brake wobbles, wheel bends, cam flattens and customers disappear. Nobody wants what you have. They move on to other micro economies and leave the 1st and 2nd gen VFR to history and a museum of old fart motorcycle memorabelia, and you, dear vendor, with no market because you couldn't make a great enough profit when the mainstay players lost interest and found a cheaper hobby.

I'm in! Is that a +2 on the bike in the pic? Also, can you get blue? If not, I'm still in.
