Considering parting 06 VFR800
I bought myself a wrecked 2006 VFR800. Was looking for front end but now considering parting her out. She's salvage title bike.
Have motor with less than 2000 miles on her. Rear wheel Swing arm Subframe Seat Solo cowl Instrument cluster Basically most of the bike from steering head back is good. Any interet in these parts? All will come with bill of sale and motor, due to serial #, will come with copy of salvage title for proof of ownership. Thanks for your time. This will help me decide on whether or not to part her out or fix her up. |

This probably wouldn't be worth your time, but did it have the grab bar covers still under the seat?

The grab bars were in the out position. They have minor scratch on them. Left clip on seems to be OK. White solo cowl is OK, I have to pull some tape off it to see. Thursday it goes to the frame straightener to see if I will save her. I'd like to. I wanted the 98-01 VFR for my wife and I but ended up with this.
Understand it's a great bike so I'm partial to keep her but forks are in short supply and that's what is holding me back at this point. |

My grab bars are fine. :) I'm just looking for the small covers that go on the bike if you remove the grab bars. They are supposed to be under the seat, mine didn't come with them. I asked the dealership about it and they were going to look into it. I just never followed up, dumb I know. I'm trying to find a set now.

Took her to the frame place today, will get her back in about a week. After that, I'm going to look a little harder for used forks so I can get her back rolling again. Spent most of the day taking her apart. . .what a shite load of work that was. Wires and hoses everywhere. . .

The SSA will sell!
Post the SSA on SVRider.com.
Those guys would kill to get their hands on a single-sided set-up from a VFR. The conversion is tricky but a lot of SV's have been converted. It looks very trick... |

Thanks, I've been busy gathering up spare parts, I am going to put her together now. But I know I will have a bunch of parts left over.
Do you guys reccomend E Bay or here? :) Bought two sets of radiators, 3 lowers, headlights and footpeg/bracket sets today alone, couldn't pass up on the price overseas. Really looking forward to getting her back together now. Thinking about exhausts now, too bad Yoshi doesn't do one. I can get Leo's or Two Bros at a discount but I'd prefer Yoshimuras. . . hmmm. Maybe make a custom set possibly. Karl |

I would advertise here and on e-bay as well as craigs list since it is free. They all work well!

Congrats and good luck on the build. I just put together my '02 a few weeks ago. If you have a good left bar left over, let me know.

Thanks Will, I might have some bar ends which are slightly scratched paint wise. I am putting on aftermarket levers (adjustable roller ones) and some other small items.

Thanks, but I just need the left bar / clip on. I already got new ends and levers. By the way, I highly recommend the Pazzo's I got the shorties.

Did you say you had parts left over.? I need a left foot peg mount, or the whole piece. If you are parting the thing out, I could really use the subframe, rear light combo, pipes, but sounds like you are putting it back together. Update??

She's going back together and I have some radiators, headlight bracket, and posisbly the mufflers (rear) to sell. I might be offering some new mufflers on a group deal as I'm a dealer, to the Board with the consent of the administator.
Thinking about making some custom Yoshimura muffler work on my bike. |

If you could get the Yoshi's on, that would be pretty sick. That's a little out of my universe. I am, however, game for a group deal on aftermarket pipes.
