BAVFR Lunch Ride / Calaveras Road

BAVFR Lunch Ride / Calaveras Road

Tim will probably kill me for posting his top secret Bay Area VFR lunch ride, but here it is. (At least its not the super top secret Mt Madonna route :-) Most of the BAVFR crew works down in the Milpedas / Silicone Valley area so they do this ride at least once a week. It is also a favorite test ride route for those of us who test ride the latest machinery from Honda of Milpedas. Calavares road is a very fun 1 lane road, but can get real intresting when cars are coming the other direction. So be careful.
  • The route explained
  • First we start at the 76 station just off 680 on Highway 237.
  • The we go right on S. Park Victoria Drive.
  • Next we go left on Yosemite Drive.
  • Now we go right on Piedmont Rd.
  • The fun begins when we go left on Sierra Rd.
  • Then it gets real interesting when we go left on Felter Road.
  • Then we go right on Calaveras Road
  • We usually follow Calaveras out to the freeway then go back on the freeway.
