Frosty commutes! Visor fog?

You know summer is nearly over when.... Ya gotta put longjohns and a t-neck on for the am commute.
I ride about 50 miles from cottage country to the city daily and it was 6C, thats 43F, this morning.

Any suggestions on keeping the visor from fogging up? I wear a NO-FOG mask for snowmobiling but that's a little too much for the bike.

Shoei helmets come with an anti fog shield built into the visor. You can breathe on that all day and it will never mist up. Came fitted as standard on the XR-1000 helmet i bought.

Try cleaning the inside of the visor with a drop or two of dish soap in a bowl of water. Worked as well as Cat Crap for my old KBC. My newer Shark helmet has not fogged up at all yet (fingers crossed).

I use a product called "Anti-Fog". It is made by Rain-X. It seems to help keep the fog off the inside of my shield when riding in cold temps.

The fog is from your breath condensing on the inside of the screen.

If you stop breathing while you are wearing the helmet, it won't fog up nearly as bad.

I've used the anti-fog stuff to good success, but deflecting your breath down and away from the screen is key if you feel you *have* to breath while riding.

Motorcycles and hypoxia - the new trend!

I rode up to Collingwood in a thunderstorm Friday night (yeah I should have stopped, but I had to make a point to myself and I didn't get hit by lightning!) and suffered from probably a combination of beaded water on the outside and fog on the inside of the shield. I'mm going to give Rain-X a try on the outside and find something like cat crap for the inside.

Nolan's Flip up helmets also come with a anti fog insert-it should be called a fog-proof insert- works great!

Heated sheild, I had one for snowmobiling & it was well worth the money. I went sledding w/ a group of guys & after seeing how well it worked everyone stopped @ a small shop in Mercer, WI & bought themselves one. HJC makes them for there helmets to the best of my knowledge don't know if anyelse does but I would assume so.
