heated clothing

just wondering if anyone out there has any heated gear and what they may think of it. i would like to extend my season a bit and was looking at the gerbings manufacturer. any help, or advice here would be great.

I have worn a heated vest for years,it was an Eclipse vest. Which served me well for 12 years before it quit,I now have a Gerbings jacket liner and love it.I
personaly would not be with out it.

Gerbings make the heated garments for HD (The Great American Unleaded Dream Machine) They are family owned and operated. Jim Gerbing once told me that if something isn't right they will make it right.

Been using heated gear for 25+ years, wouldn't ride without it. Most is Gerbing, also 2 other brands. All my bikes are wired for them except the BMW which is being restored. Came through Sask once, put on 1250km that day,-10C when I started and never got above freezing. Electrics saved the day. Really nice if you get caught in a cold rain. Go for it, you won't regret it.

I have used the same Eclipse heated vest for 12 years, and it still works fine, except for the fact that I seem to be a little thicker in the middle than I was 12 years ago (it fits a little snug). It is VERY NICE when caught out in a cold rain or when the ride runs a little longer into the night than planned and it gets cold.

I've had a Widder electric vest for about 2 years, and absolutely swear by it. I've ridden in some cold conditions for extended durations on an SV650 standard (w/windscreen) and have been comfortable (70MPH, 25 - 35F, 200 miles). The first thing I added to my '07 VFR was an adapter for the vest. The only "gotcha" I have found is with a pair of Cortech pants that have padding extending up my lower back. The vest doesn't fit underneath the pants, so there is a slight air gap. Electric clothing needs to fit pretty close to be, uummh, efficient?

What I really like about the vest, besides staying so much warmer, is I no longer have to carry so much auxilliary clothing. Definitely worth it!
