VFR MEET for ONTARIO riders JULY 27
ON JULY 27 there is a MEET and RIDE for VFR and HAWK riders from ONTARIO and Western New York.
WE are gathering at around 1pm in the parking lot at the SKYLON Tower in NIAGARA FALLS. (5200 Robinson St.) WE will cruise down the Niagara Parkway to Fort Erie, then jump northbound on the QEW, stopping near St.Catharines at Lock 3 of the Welland Canal, then ride to Niagara on the Lake, then back on the Niagara Parkway south to our starting point at the Skylon. Suggestions for other destinations are welcome. PLEASE come and participate!!!!!

Sounds like a good plan.
My $.02.....What happen to the meet and greet plan though and talk about a ride for the next one to try to get more to attend since every time we plan a ride event hardly anyone shows or most of the ones that do show don't want to ride and would rather kick tires for a while or more then make it a ride event. Also waht happen to the 26th as the date some of us all ready said was a good day in another post? LOL I'm sure most of us have plenty of friends we can ride with all ready so no real need to make a VFR/Hawk event a ride event in less we get a bunch that prefer it and want to parade our steeds around town...which is fine with me. I would think the different subject header may be more in line like "Ontario,Ca & WNY area meet & ride" FYI The Niagara Parkway around NF's and Niagara On The Lake is loaded with tourist traffic when this event will be going on also so may be wise to stay clear of the sight seeing area's. But that's just my $.02 and will go with any plan. Last edited by Joe Foe from Buffalo; 07-10-2008 at 10:57 AM. |

I'll give a tentative yes for attending. Not sure about my sched yet but I'll firm it up in the next few days. If I come up from Chatham I'll want to do more riding in new areas/good roads than kick tires and talk about the sames stuff thats on this forum.

Thanks for setting this up guys! I may be in provided it isn't pouring rain. Saturdays are easier for me but I may be able to make it by 1pm Sunday. About how many miles would you say the route from Skylon to Sklyon is?
Any tips for crossing the border on a motorcycle? (i.e. do they want you to remove your helmet so they can compare your passport pic, etc.?) Thanks! ![]() |

Hey dashcrasher, if I can swing the free time we should get together to go to this, I'm in Windsor. Easier ride with a group than solo;

REALLY, JOE??
"loaded with tourist traffic when this event will be going on also so may be wise to stay clear of the sight seeing area's." First Joe, we're ALL tourists, and second, any group of Honda motorcycles is a sight to see, so WE are a sightseering area! (OF course no bikes will be overheating because everyone has checked to be certain that their fan is working, i'm sure) YES, the southerly crawl down to Fort Erie will be SLOW ( anyway, the scenery is prime) but not the northbound section after that........... __________________

I'm game for any plan as long as we have one since no one wanted to make one. I was just giving my two cents on what may effect the plan set in place or what I thought we agreed on.
Porcupine73, Total trip around 50 miles. Crossing the border don't worry it will be easy. You should bring your NYS license and birth certificate .......or if you have one just passport. Ether will cover any of the crossing paper work needed. Yes they may ask you to turn your bike off and take your helmet off. Don't worry they don't do body cavity searches that often or lock you up for years at a time that often when we go across to see the sights or visit friends. If you want to meet us WNY's before we cross send me a PM or the day of the event we plan to cross together and will have a meeting spot I would guess near the peace bridge or rainbow bridge on the NYS side. |

Man, I would love to be there, especially since it's right in my backyard! Unfortunately I am leaving for the cottage on Saturday with the car and the boat. Too many toys, not enough time! Take some pictures to share with the group! Have Fun!

How about a head count?
1) Joe Foe from Buffalo 2) Squirrelman 3) Sibex 4) Juice 5) 6) 7) Squirrelman, Are you getting a head count form the Hawk Members? If so please add to the list or ask for one if not asked yet and add them asap...please. It helps to have a list in many ways before a ride to have a idea on how many are planning on attending after many years of doing rides like this |

VFR Meet
Hi I have just been lurking in the background on this board for a while since I got my VFR last Christmas. I would like to join you guys (if it does not rain). I also have a friend living in Queenston who would also like to tag along (he rides a cruiser) if it's ok. Do you guys shun non VFR riders? I myself have learned to accept the poor soul.

All Are welcome. If it rains we get wet. Dress for the weather and no worries. It's going to be warm enough to get wet any ways so come no matter. Plus the forcast is for mostly sunny.

I'll be at the Skylon at 1pm if I can; might have some company coming Sunday but don't know for sure yet.
Where'd the pic of the squirrels go, that was a nice pic :) If I can make it I'll be sure to leave this baby at home hehe ![]() |
