Port Dover, Ontario, Friday, April 13th....

I know this date is a bit out there in the future but it certainly helps me stay sane while I wait for the snow to clear and the temps to warm up. Who is interested in travelling to Port Dover, Ontario on Friday, April 13? I'm planning on heading there from the St. Catharines and would enjoy riding with some fellow VFR'rs'. Maybe we can build a route plan to pick up some of the group along the way. I've already marked it as a "holiday" on my calender. How about you?!

I'll be there! Travelling in from the West down Hwy #3.(Weather permitting)
Definitely there July 13th. (Regardless of weather).
Last year wasn't to great, perhaps this year will be better. It would be nice to see more VFR's in the crowd!!

Port Dover Rocks

I have made that trip on 4 different times from Cleveland. I was riding a BMW then but I'm sure the VFR I ride now will make the trip (267 miles one way).

I probably won't make the April run but the next one is July and I am planning for that one. It is a great sight to see even if its cold! RG 500 Suzuki's, Norton Commandos, Harleys of all kinds, flat head Indians, and a Sunbeam of the late '40s are among the rides I've seen. Oh yeah and the women are attractive too. Well mostly anyway, just like Daytona.

You have to give a town a great deal of respect to turn itself out for a grass roots festival for riders like this!

Check out www.pd13.com my avatar is from a pic I took at Port Dover, the old Golden Retreiver was sitting on a platform mounted on a Pan Head Harley and the gentleman seemed old enough to be the orginal owner!

Looking forward to a group of VFR's rolling into town and enjoying the festivities. I would love to post a few pictures after April 13 of the VFR contingent. I hope this thread remains open so we can get a group together for the day. That's my goal. Let's ride together!

Anybody still planning on going? The weather around here has been awful for riding lately. No sun, no warmth, just a miserable combination of snow and salt! Friday is not looking too great either, but it's still a few days away...

I'm in a holding pattern until I really know what the weather is going to be like. If it's above 10 and clear, I'm in. Have to wait until Thursday to be sure. I really want to go and I hope to be able link up with some of you as well. Let's be positive and say that we are in. Where would you suggest meeting up and at what time. Potential people coming in from Beamsville, Toronto, Leamington and Fonthill. I'm probably the furthest out coming in from Fonthill. Any thoughts?

Well, I waited until 11am, just after it stopped snowing and the roads started to dry up and I made my way down to Port Dover. The ride was cold and very windy, around 2 degrees Celcius or 34 degrees F. but it was worth it. A ton of enthusiasts turned out and needless to say, lots of gloves, jackets and face masks were sold. Didn't see any other VFR's but what a collection of bikes!
I've posted some pictures in my gallery for those who could not be there. The next trip is in July on Friday the 13th. I'm sure the turnout will be awesome then and I hope I can meet some of you for that trip. Cheers!
