Looking for a VFR
I have been bikeless for 10 years and have desided too take the step back too the bike world. And have desided I really like 2001-2004 VFR's. I had one lined up too purchase at a Used bike shop here. But they sold it from under me :(.... It was a 2004 red VFR with like 9500 km on it for 8500.00
I cant find any others anywhere. Only older bikes. And i really want the VTEC with the pipes up high. Does anybody know of a any other way too track a bike down. Thnks Hopefully , soon to be part of the club :) |

Hey Neighbor, man could be a tough one. na, all I know is to hit no doubt what you have, local Paper ha ha, craigs list, ebay, cycle trader, then the good ole inter net. just depending on how far you want to go for what will also play into it, being your in Canada might make it a wee bit harder. I'll keep my eye out for ya.. good luck, you know, you might try buying new. I have seen left over 06s going for good prices ala RMC down here in Renton

hey axel had the same problam about a year ago very hard to find a good used vfr at a reasonable cost, seems to me its not a very popular bik in BC
with the extra insurance you have to pay for being over 750cc. most just buy a liter bike. i got mine from rick at internationalmotorsports.com located in delta al most all there bikes come from the us including mine was a great deal basically brand new last years model for same price as some of the used ones i found. only negative is warranty good only in us, but warrantyis up this month and never had a problam its a honda! had my heart set to buy duc st glad i didnt just cant get enough of my vfr a great bike! should give them a call much better chance of finding one out of the us |

If you are trying to buy a used VFR in the Vancouver anea. If you see it buy it. They will be gone in a flash. I even had someone wanting to buy mine the other day. They are pretty much the most sort after used bike around here. You can get a good price on 06's at Cartermotorsport. I got $2500 off last year when I bought mine. I expect you could get a pretty good deal this year too as I noticed they had some left in the Coquitlam shop.

axel its worth a try to talk to international ms they are very easy to deal with if your not in a rush somthing might come up.
speedo on us and canadian models both read km and miles including odometer there is no difference between other than the temp reads in F not C but im sure that could be changed but not an issue with me , either way im sure somthing will come up, good luck!! Grinder seems we must shop at the same dealer i almost bought 05 last year off them mabay the same bike! but found the us bike in delta saved a few bucks and took a chance on the warranty but your right this is the time they want to move last years models out |

If I remember correctly the list for the ABS is $14,700 and the non ABS is a few hundred cheaper. You should be able to get the ABS for $12,000 plus taxes and pdi and again a bit less for the non. When I was there last week I think they even had both colours. If you need accessories, clothing etc. if you can push them a bit and they will also give a pretty good discount on that sort of thing. They don't like to move on the PDI. Guy I dealt with is Bob Wolfe seemed like a pretty decent sort for a salesman. Dealership seems pretty good too compared with some. If it sounds like a sales pitch sorry. I don't have any ties with the dealer just think they treated me pretty fairly. Not a super great deal but fairly.
It will be cheaper if you can find a used one. No PDI etc. but you really have to be in quick. In the four or five years I have been keeping an eye on VFR's I have seen three reasonably new used ones at dealers and they were gone in a couple of days. Good luck.

Axel, as far as I understand it you don't have to pay duty on motorcycle imports but you do have to pay GST and PST. Plus if you buy new from a store in Washington you will have to pay the Washington State sales tax. If you buy from Oregon there is no state sales tax. At present exchange rates I doubt that you will be much better off buying new in the US. Used is a totally different story. US prices seem to be less than Canadian for an equivalent bike.

I have a price from a bellingham dealer for 9500 us and a out of state sale that would not include state tax. And exchange or 1.178 % is 11191.00 then taxes is more the 1200 less then i have been able too get at Carter or holeshot., Now i have found 3 dealers (minni, Texas and Oklahoma) that have new 06 bikes for 7878.00 - 8250.00 in prices with exchange the bike is 9305.00 - 9718.50. then i have too ship too blaine to pickup. :(
Am i crazy too look into doing it this way..... But $ is $ |
