Lets get the subjects that matter to us on the site. Gatso cameras, good pubs, cafes and roads that are worth seeking out for a SUnday afternoon blast.

owned this since new, only had one problem the dreaded rectifier, got off after MOT last monday to find bike enveloped in white smoke, managed to get seat and side panels off before heat melted them. previous bikes were triumph bonnie 1965, triumph tiger 90.

Sorry Boys and Girls, it's Bubba "The Yankee" Zanetti. I'd love to ride with you all on the British Isle, but stuck stateside.

Anyway, I had a question about the Gatso's. I know you all have to deal with those pain in the ass machnines, but is there anyway to fool them? With today's technology you would think someone made something to block how they work.

You get fined less too if you get caught, but the trick is not to get caught.
Thats why we have bikes, plus the police over here aren't supposed to chase bikes, well not in Nottingham anyway.

Is there anyone that can answer a pretty easy question about a headlight part that I believe only comes on the European / U.K. version of the 2002 VFR? I have the U.S. version but I want to run "pilot"? lights in addition to my headlights for extra visibility. I heard that these are utilized on the models sold over seas but nobody in the U.S. seems to know about these bulbs let alone which model of bulb is used. Can anyone help me?

Pilot bulb question. Can anyone help me with this? Do VFR bikes in Europe use/have a small bulb below their lo-beams? It might be called a pilot bulb. It is low wattage, maybe 5-10 Watts. Their are two of them total, one below each of the two lo-beams. Do you (European riders) have/use them? Can you tell me more about them since no one in the U.S. seems to know anything about them?

In the uk they are known as side lights the term is from there use on cars. 5 watts is correct but not enough to provide sufficient light i.e. you wuold`nt notice them if used in addition to your main beam lamp in the uk they can be used on there own but not recomended. so most riders in the uk ride on dipped lo beams as you call them. I have fitted xenon bulbs to my RC46 which i highly recommend. Also uk spec vfr`s are fitted with 60/55w lamps as standard US models only 45/45w. hth

FYI My official Honda manual states that our headlights have 55w lo-beam and 55w hi-beam.

I want to put in an LED light in where I should have had the 5W lights. I was thinking of putting something in with a little bit of color so that I would stand out amongst traffic and other friends that ride with the same bike. Maybe a little blue, red or yellow? It will mostly be drowned out by the headlights but it will affect the overall color of the headlight area when cars look behind them. I can also use them when parked and the headlights are off. I connected a simple switch inline with the headlight relay so that I can kill the headlight when warming up the bike to allow the battery to charge and the neighbors don't have to have the headlights beaming into their house windows. It took 15 minutes to install and cost $3. Great for the battery.

Sounds a good idea, but dont you have your turn indicators equiped with permanent lamps? in the uk these lamps have 2 filaments one of them is unused i thought that in the states they were used for day time extra ilumination. i have thought about connecting them to the side light circuit.

I'm just down the Road from RaceAce here in the North West of the UK

It's been minus 1 to 5 of late here so I've not risked going out on the old girl as our Council don't seem to grit the Roads anymore unlike Lancashire Council

TPR42 same over here on the wirral a distinct lack of grit on the roads, not worth the risk of binning your pride and joy on black ice and if you manage to have kept it up right when you get home you'd have to wash off all the salt an crap before it does any damage, bikes and salt dont go together well takes the shine of thing a bit....

Yeah tell me about it! Have no choice but use bike as only means of transport and my bandit is out of action ATM and every time i get home my VFR has gone from red to white! It's a constant battle keeping it clean lol. Well hopefully winter will shove off soon then the nice spring riding will be here! Yay!
