I got a 2000 VFR that Im turning into a reverse trike. I have most of it torn apart, just gotta make a swing arm, relocate the electronics, and I should be good to go. I was making a thread instead of an ad cause I was gonna update as I keep working on it, and find out that I dont need as much as I thought.

UPDATE: If forum rules allow, everything is OBO until I research prices and see what a good price would be for both of us. Im not looking to flip these parts for tons of cash, just looking for some funds to get this project rolling. Tags in photobucket are actually the description.
PICS HERE

So far, heres what I got for sale: (everything in good condition unless otherwise noted)

Corbin Seat
Tank (small dent, does not come with pump or internals)
Front forks
Front brakes
Front Rim and new tire
Left Clip on
Rear plastic cowl
Tail light
Rear subframe
Pegs and brackets

Thats what I got for now. If you want to see pics of the bike (and progress), go here:
It will keep charged for a while and then occassionally it will die when I am coming to a stop light or stop at all. Then it will sometimes not start up for me and today I now have it parked waiting for help to get it going. How do I know if it is the R/R or possibly the alternator that I need to fix?

Yay for disposable income!

Picked up the following grocery list
Sgt seat in black $450US
Heli bars $315US
Knight LLC lowering pegs $95US(yes my knees hurt like a sunuvagun on my daily commute to work, hoping these help)
Givi T437N tank bag $203cdn
Ebay'd a 3 case set of VFR Givi luggage $630US (E45 top box, 2 E35 side boxes and Wingrack 2)

Also picked up some proper riding gear
Joe rocket Ballistic 10.0 bright orange jacket and pants $473cdn

Tack that onto the new set of tires, chain and front brake switch... $893

I think i've managed to drop a little over 3300 into my 98 and i've owned it just over a month now! Damn, I never tallied it up till now :S Hope it's all worth it in the end!

Thinking that with all these ergonomic mods, i'll not have to deal with knee pain and a brake foot that falls asleep on the ride to and from work. Tried all sorts of different seating positions too... Its weird, I can take the pressure off my arms/wrists and shoulders and my knees start acting up, then adjust, and the lower back takes a hit, adjust again and then the shoulders and neck start to ache. I think im a little too big for it, have 36" inseam and my knees don't like to be stuck in any bent position any length of time.

Next thing to pick up is a warmer set of gloves, last week was freezing at 8C in the morning, this week is almost 30C in the morning. I'll have a busy end of September putting all these bits and pieces on. I'll post pics when the time comes for installs.

Project for today was make a high mount mid pipe for my existing 2bros pipe. I started with pieces of 2" and 2 1/8" exhaust pipe I had left over from something else. I had 2 mandrel bent 90 s that I used to configure the right angles to clear the tire and position the pipe like I wanted. there were 4 separate pieces that got welded together then painted with 2000 degree black. Also had to weld rings for the springs. I also had to make a bracket to support the top mount of the can. Took most all day but I would rather make my own mid pipe than spend 100 or more if you can even find the mid by itself.

This bike is nothing like my ST was. What a difference. I had a ball on this bike. The twistys were effortless. I found my self having to correct for diving in too hard once or twice.200 pounds lighter makes such a difference. I figured at my age the agressive riding possition would hurt my back until I got use to it,but so far thats not the case. Its no more than the ST was. I am head over heals in love with this bike. The guy who had it before me must have loved on it as well. For an eleven year old motorcycle its in great shape. And has nice mods to it as well. I stoped and checked the regulator/rectifier for heat and it was hardly even warm during all phases of the ride. So this guy must have installed the heavy duty one and done the harness as well.

Hi everyone,

I have just purchased my Blue Gen 5 VFR800.

It has always been my dream bike. I am looking to change the exhaust from stock..

I like micron mufflers and it appears thay have a hi rise kit to mount it higher.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to source just the hi-rise pipe so I can fit the muffler of my choice.

The only things I have seen so far is the staintune and micron setups.

My bike won't in my eyes be complete until the rear wheel is exposed and I can take full advantage of how nice the single swing arm makes a bike look..

P.S. I am not looking for underseat, just high rise with a single muffler..

I'd appreciate your feedback.

As titled, my 5th gen's adjustment dampener just spins and spins, shock seems to be working, by that I mean dampening in both directions, I just thought I could go for an affordable upgrade. I read postings until my eyes hurt and never found much of a direct replacement for my bike. I thought I had read in the past that an f4i was a direct replacment and there are quite a few available.
If anyone has some insight on some options, I'm sure it would be appreciated here on the forum.
thanks
