I've decided that I want to put white wheels on my RWB 6th Gen. I want to keep the stock wheels in their original condition for when I sell the bike in the future. I want to know specifically if 3rd Gen Wheel/Rotors can be used on the 6th Gen without modification.

EDIT: Sorry for cross posting in the 3rd Gen Forum, I tried to delete one of the posts but I can't find an option to delete a thread.

Hi - I currently ride a Suzuki M50. While it's been a sweet ride for 16,000 miles I love what I see and especially HEAR from the VFR bikes. That whirring purr you can hear on the 2010 VFR 'teaser' website is awesome. I want to step up my motorcycling to the next level and a VFR looks and sounds right.

It's funny, my V-twin M50 actually kind of purrs on takeoff, with the stock exhaust that's real quiet.
I doubt I'd have the cash ($20K?) for the coming new 2010 1200 VFR but maybe I could do up to $10K for a good used one.

My question to those in the know here is, which of the years 2007 - 2009 is the best VFR overall? And is there one year which has the most upright ergos? It would be great to have a bike with a more "standard" riding position vs, leaning over so much as with most sportbikes clipons' Thanks for any insights!

Also, if anyone in Tucson has gutted their exhaust (Cruisinaz?). Oh, and if anyone wants to meet up and go for a ride!!!! Just be patient if we do, the bike only has 137 miles so far, so I'm still taking it kinda easy on her. Thanks guys!

Honda USA must have had a disastrous year in 2007 with so many VFR leftovers sitting around in the warehouse. I don't want to start a new discussion of prices - but I picked my new 2007 up for a good price and a Ducati trade in. So far the verdict is out on the bike. I have to put more miles on it. The throttle has more flat spots below 6k than my high school chorus. There's also that weird throttle dip and then VTEC surge at about 6.8/7k. I'm going to "discuss" the throttle issues with the dealer when I bring the bike in for the first service. If that doesn't result in a significant improvent I'm going to see if a PC can tune out the throttle issues. (I figure that for what I paid for the bike it's worth doing on my own the development engineering that Honda should have done before they put the bike on the market). If I can't improve the throttle it's going to be a short ownership experience for me because I don't see how you can safely corner a bike with so many weird throttle issues, some of which I think relate to the FI and others to the VTEC.

Hi Guys

Had my 2007 mod for about 3 months . Don't know if anyone can help me but here we go ''

I have aftermarket pipes (staintune) and because the size of the pipes are larger the original heat shield doesn't fit .

I'm talking about the one just behind your right leg running down near your calf .( I'm burning my riding pants on the exhaust )

I'm more concerned about the look off the bike . I'm told by Honda here in Australia they don't make one .

anyone know were I can buy one in the US ????? what do other rides do ??

thank you ..

IT looks very simple and it is.....
very cheap too...
All Home Depot
$8.00 18 x 24 22guage piece of Sheet Metal
$6.90 4ft Pre-drilled Angle Iron (Steel Piece)(you can get shorter piece but they break when you bend them out and not very strong)
$3.00 - $6.00 Jig Saw Bits
Dollar Store:
$1.00 Black Sharpie
$1.00 Standard 12in Ruler

You will use the stock light (you need to break it down all the way like you have to change the bulb)(Two screws in back will be reused)

You will reuse the stock Fender bolts and screws.

1. you will cut a 5in x 6 1/2in square
2. mark where you need the holes for your plate
3. make sure your angle iron holes line up also
4. first bend your angle iron to the angle you want (see pic)
5. after bent you can cut out the center of one side for the piece to fit up to the bottom of bike. (you can use a dremmel or jig saw( better lines with sharp jig saw blade))
6. cut your pieces
7. drill your holes
8. for the bends, you need a bench vice: bend the sheet at the top of the plate bend about 130 degrees one way, then flip it over move up 1/4in and bend back 90 degrees for the light to sit staight up( i will post a pic of the angle shortly
9. put licence on and the bolt to the bike after

if you are not sure about this use a thinner sheet of medal that bend easy and try it your self to see if it right for you. I had the back fender already off to do this.

Anyone knows how to gut the stock pipes and baffles on 6th gen bike.
I am able going to get the staintunes
but if I can bypass spending the $500.00 for the motad headers I would
does anyone know of a post with pix they really help.
It looks easy to do just cut off where the cat is right????
And fab a new pipe (know someone at a muffler shop):tape2:
I’m a little concerned about the pipes do not cross on the motad and they do on the stock.
i would think no difference because they all collect to one any way (should I be concerned:crazy:)

OK IT'S DONE
:joker::crazy::crazy::eek::thumbsup:
It's done gutted the cat () this was not easy about 1.5 hours
but the gutts are out take a look lots of pics.

1. Need a friend with a plasma torch (and knows how to use it)
2. knowing where to cut is have the battle:eek:
3. after 50 mins figured out (melt the HELL out of it):flamer:
4. do one cone and the other will fall out:confused:
5. weld a piece of medal back over hole:pound:
6. done:thumbsup:
:crazy::crazy::crazy:

ok but now need the .99 cent O2's:confused:
1. radio shack 1/4 watt 330 Ohm 5% tolerance (really .99)
2. find your o2's follow the wire back to a black and green colored connectors:hump:
3. remove your o2's the connector to you bike on the opposite side of the lock clip of the connector (pix)
4. heat sink them or elec tape (to keep water out a lite coat of petroleum jelly will do great.
5. plug your o2 holes with bolts youcan get at any auto parts store
6. now buy your PCiii or PCv for your ride.

Last year I worked a deal, selling my 06 pearl white, and buying an 07 RWB. I lost no money on the deal, and I had 13,000 miles on the 06, and the 07 only had 206! Excellent! I used to own the 1st Gen 700cc with the same paint scheme as the 07 when I was 20 years old (I bought it new, so I am now aging myself), so I just had to have the 07! Anyway, I replaced the tires on the 06 with Conti RA's and I absolutely loved them! I sold the bike with them installed. When I later bought the 07, the first thing that I did was have Conti RA's installed on it. Now, I must tell you that I ride year round, rain or shine, in Washington State, so it is mostly rainy. I loved the Conti's in the rain! I couldn't believe how the tire gripped, until I had the new set installed on the 07. It was like ice skating! Totally unnerving! I wondered if Conti changed the compounds or something, so I called them, and they claimed that they didn't. I had put 3000 miles on them before it started raining, and they were fine in the dry, but, I could still read the writing in the front tire, and a bit of the writing in the back tire. I am an semi-aggressive rider, and I take it to the track, and over the summer I did three track days on these tires, so that doesn't seem right. My buddy thinks that I put too many, or to extreme, heat cycles on them? Last week, I gave up on them, and put on a set of Michelin PP2CT's. Has anyone else running Conti RA's had any grip problems with them? Thanks.
