Hi all,

Funny how things work out. I've just bought a nice '97 VFR750FV which is my third VFR. I bought a '95 750FS in Y2K, traded it in for a new '02 Vtec which was sold to buy a new '05 BMW R1200GS. Now I've gone full circle by selling the GS and buying this pretty clean 750. I regretted selling my first 750 about a year into owning the Vtec. Good bike as the Vtec is, I missed the whirr of those gear driven cams.

So here I am, all in love with the mighty VFR.....again.

The pics are : My first 750FS, my Vtec and finally my latest steed. The red rim tape has already been removed and the bike put back to standard, although I've already fitted Y2K mirrors.

I'll be spending the winter months getting the new (old) 750 up to my standard ready for next seasons riding.

Hi All,

Had a '94VFR for ten years. LOVED it! Sold it in '07 with 50k miles. Needed something with a little more acceleration. But alas, there was a void in my heart. This past week, I rekindled 'the love' with an '00 VFR. Always liked the yellow and found one locally with just under 16k miles, stock but also came with a Corbin. Owner was selling because he had no garage... and he had no garage cuz his house burned down. Sad. So, he had no maintenance records, owner's manual etc.

Bike had the tool kit but, I found during the first detailing that the kit is missing the lug wrench and the handle extension bar. Been checkin' ebay but, no luck finding just those items. Any suggestions besides going to a dealer?

I've read a few of the reg/rec threads. My '94 stranded me in the middle of "nowhere", UT back in '01, frying most everthing just as the sun was setting and a rain storm was approaching. Funny how you know precisely when you're vacation is ending and your adventure is beginning. Five days and ... $1,600 later (still pains me to recall that), I limped the bike home (via VEGAS! ;-). Never trusted her again after that. Surprised that there are similar issues on subsequent gens. Sheesh. I like the suggestion of buying the new-improved r/r and storing the stock one. Excellent idea. Oh, and I've read thru the sport/sport-touring... tire threads. Appreciate all the info. I ordered tires - but, I ain't tellin' what I got!

It's great to have a V4 back in the stable. Lovely bike! Seems that it would benefit from some better suspenders tho. Looking forward to contributing to the group!

Hello VFR World members,

Just signed up last week. I love the VFR. I'm on my second one. Well sort of. I had a white 93 with cracked up body work and low miles about 10 years back in San Diego. It had a savage title but ran perfect. Used it for less than a year. Never found body work and ended up selling it for what I paid for it. But the fever didn't die. I've been riding for 30+ years but that bike was special. Got a V-strom in 2002 and took one nice trip into Canada. It reminded me of the VFR in some ways. The problem was I moved to Brazil a year later in pursuit of a woman. Ended up settling down here. Not a problem really unless you want a VFR. Bikes are expensive here and VFR's were never imported. To make a long story short I bought a hi mileage (45k?) 2004 for 3050 US bongo bucks last week. I keep it in Texas at my brothers place. He gets to ride it also but I get to have my way with the bike 3 times a year. It's stock with Honda bags. It's in great shape and has been maintained well. I plan on taking a trip south in January. Sort of a great way to torture myself I guess. I've got a DR650 motard here. I'm into two strokes also. I'm going to build up a custom RD/RZ350 next year. I used to ride more but got a busy life now so there's less time to ride. Brazil's a great place for riding I must say though. Bikes are just expensive. Any Brazilian members? I did see a VFR400 once in Sao Paulo. I love those bikes too and saw one cheap on the Supermoto Junkie - Powered by vBulletin forum recently. I bet it's still there!

Well that was a fun ramble.

Cheers,
Brian
( even tho she hasnt been on in a while. ) lol.

I worked lots of overtime and came up with enuff scratch to buy her a bike.
I know that this is vfrworld and her bike is no vfr, but I am assuming that she will be welcome here either way since she will be riding with all of us :ncp: norcal possie viffers.
MSF is right around the corner, we almost have enough money for that now too.
She will be riding as soon as she passes.
And hopefully be posting as well!
Big help from the TOECUTTER on finding a bike for us in less then a week, and going to pick it up for us. Thanks TOE. We are in your debt!
Recomended by all my vfr brethren that I ride with, as the best beginner bike....oh and it is a hoot to ride.
1991 suzuki gs500e.
She might graduate to a vfr in the future, but no pressure... im just glad to have my best friend ( my wife ) on the road with me soon!

On a final note, before the fun begins... I did see a post from tinkerinwithstuff saying that if you have a friend about to take the course and start riding, dont give them advice. let the proffessionals advise them, so you dont pass off any bad habits. I am taking that advice. I thought it was sound. thanks TWS.

I've been wanting a 6th gen since they first came out! Ive "suffered" through several other bikes including a NICE NT650, and for the last 18 months have been bike-less! I just picked up a NEW 07 RWB, and couldn't be happier!!! It's only got 137 miles on it just yet (still need to get it the rest of the way home) but I can't wait to finish breaking it in and have some fun! I've been lurking for a while, and I'm still debating the relative merits of the mods I've been reading about. The only things planned at first are a Stebel Magnum horn and a brakelight modulator. Wow, I sure am getting responsible in my old age (25) haha...

Now, if only I knew how to weld, I could unleash that sweet V4 sound with some gutting...

Hello all:

Today is a very exciting day for me because I just purchased a 2008 VFR Interceptor and man is it gorgeous. I've been wanting this bike for the better part of a decade and the day has finally arrived. I am currently a proud owner of a 1985 Honda vf500 red, white and blue.

I do have some concerns and questions if anyone can help me out with their thoughts. I have only been riding my current and only motorcycle for a year, really only six months. This is my first motorcyle and I have never driven on previously. My question is did I make the right decision on purchasing this bike with my limited expierence.

I am very responsible while riding but I did dump my bike twice, amazingly the bike is still in great condition after my first dump. My first dump was caused by a drunk driver running me off the road and I'm not sure if I could have avoided dumping it if I had more experience. I also gently set the bike down at an intersection becouse I was engaged into the turn and for some reason the car ahead of made a sudden stop for no real reason. still my fault though for following to close.

I just want to know if any inexpirenced riders whos been riding for a year or less have hade trouble upgrading to a bike of this caliber.

Thanks and I'll be enjoying riding everyones thoughts,

Terry
