fuel tank rubber
I noticed my tank was moving a bit and finally figured out it was the rubber fuel tank guard. Has anyone replaced theres? DO I need to take the tank off? If so does it need to be empty? Thanks for all your help I am learning how to work on this stuff myself for fun and savings. Dj

fuel tank rubber
The two bolts in the front (near the ignition) come out (don't drop them, or the washers, or the grommets) and then the tank swings up on a pivot that is at the back near the seat. (seat must be off). There's a prop rod in your tool bag to hold the tank up or I just use a short cut-off broomstick. No need to empty the tank or disconnect any fuel lines. You'll be looking at the top of your airbox so if you haven' t recently serviced the air filter you might want to think about it.
I have the rubber fuel tank things in stock if your dealer is greedy about it. |
