Anyone have a Yoshimura on there 5th Gen ?

I came across a Yosh. for my '98. How do they sound? The pipe is not mounted so hearing it would be a slight PITA.

Are they super loud?

Would I need a Power Commander or is stock map OK.
I have heard Staintunes (which are great) and TBR but not any other aftermarket pipes on a 5th.

Thanks in advance.

Bryan

Yep sure do. Here's a link with a pic....Y2K Yoshi

What series are you looking at? Mine is an RS3. It is only a little louder than stock at idle, about like stock when cruising, and sounds great when you get on it. The only other thing I've done is a K & N filter. No remapping is required. Yoshi claims 9hp at the rear wheel and I believe it. There is a noticeable difference over stock.

Silversurfer just installed a Leo Vince exhaust on his 6th gen and he has a sound clip. My Yoshi sounds very similar......Another Leo Vince Install (now with LOTS of pictures!!)

Yes, I have a Yoshimura SS2R on my '99 and it isn't too loud but has a great sound when you hit it. I got rid of a Two Brothers because it sounded a bit too tinny, and a Micron because it was too loud, beautiful sound but waaaaay loud.
