thermometer out of place / hanging down

For some reason my outside temp thermometer fell out from behind the instrument cluster. I have no idea where it goes, so the wire is just hanging down next to my right fork. I’m afraid to take off the upper fairing because the previous owner told me he had to have one of the holes retapped. If anyone knows where the thermometer clips into and how to put it back there please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You have to take off the outer right fairing to get to it. But it just plugs into a hole, and is only in there by a couple clips, its not very securely fastened.
