Windshield advice

Sup guys...First off, I'm 6'4, and use the vfr for commuting mostly....but when I can, I take it out in the twisties.

Currently, I have a stock windshield, and the only way I can get "under the wind" is to lay on the tank. I'd like something that deflects the wind a little higher than my chin.

I've done a bit of research, and it appears as if the ZG double bubble works much better than stock...but I'm not sure if it'll shoot the wind high enough for my liking. Ahh, and it's pretty dead sexy.

The ZG sport touring model appears to be the best for deflecting wind, but it doesn't look great.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Like Y2K above, I've got the Zero Gravity ST and it works great for me..6' 1.
Doesn't take away from the bikes look at all.

I'm 6'1 and I have the DB. It does work beautifully for me. The wind hits my helmet now. I find the wind extremely useful in the rain. I almost never go into full crouch position anymore. I don't know how the ST will fare with your additional 3 inches though.

The givi doesn't look great IMO either....you'd have to want to part with it pretty cheap for me to buy that. Why do you want to sell it?

I prefer the look of the stocker. As to your point about its looks, it's as aesthetically unpleasing as the ZG ST imo. But ultimately it depends on what you value more: function or form?

Well, that's why I'm leaning towards the ZG DB....because it's better than the stocker for windflow, and looks better.

The windflow will hit your helmet and possibly your neck. The wind on the neck is only really noticeable in cold weather. If the weather is below 37 degrees, I wear a balaclava, and I'm good to go. Link:

Why not buy one of each? I have both the stocker and DB, and depending on the ride switch from one to the other. Its not that hard.

U being 6'4 and all, a DB probably will not do much for you. Maybe move some air from your lower chest to upper chest a tad. The ST would benefit you more so.

Another vote for the St. I have one on mine and it definitely helps out over the stocker.

I'm 6'4" also and have a 99 with a no name DB, looks similar to the ZG tho. I've noticed that if I don't sit with good posture (i.e. round my back) I get some high frequency turbulence coming off the wind screen at the bottom of the helmet. I either need to straighten my back (which I should do anyway) or lay below the screen.

To be fair, I bought the bike this way and have not experienced another windscreen.

I bought an ST & it still hits me right @ the bottom of the helmet. I was hoping to get it up to @ least the middle of the faceshield, but no luck. I dont think they make one tall enough for us.

BTW, Im 6'4", 200 Lbs with a 5th Gen.

Well two inches isn't gonna get you much plus there is still a big hole at the base of the 'screen that lets air through. I have the ZG DB and I still get hit with a lot of wind. I think the ST is fugly and I wasn't a big fan of the DB but it has grown on me.

Hi, I have a 2005 VFR with Heli Bars as I am tall and have back problems.- The Heli Bars have totally transformed what was already a great bike. Before putting on the Heli Bars, I already had the genuine Honda raised screen. This was ok until I put on the Heli's when I started to get buffeted at speed. Having read other threads about screens, I decided to try the ZG Sport Touring as I did'nt expect the ZG double bubble to make much improvement over the Honda raised screen. The ZG Sport Touring has been another huge improvement with little buffetting at 'sensible' Advanced Riding Speeds and has reduced wind noise into my helmet. - As for looks, I chose the 'dark tint' which appears black and has the visual effect of extending the black triangle in the centre of the nose cone all the way up to the top of the screen. I think it lokks great - I'm hoping to post some pics today as the bike is getting a clean ready for a tour of Northern France starting tommorow. Happy hunting for your new screen!

Well, I went ahead and bought the DB...I'll hopefully get it next week, and report back the positive/negative results.
