Bike rammed and knocked over last night... need help with stray piece

Hey guys -

It's unfortunate that one of my first posts here has to be under these circumstances, but eh.

Some douchenozzle - likely drunk - ran into my 99 vfr last night, bending the side stand almost 90 degrees in the middle and knocking the bike over on its side.

I found the attached piece on the ground. It looks like a cover for something, but I couldn't see any part that looks like it needed it.

I hope you can help me find where to put it back on. Sorry for the bad pics, camera phone. Thanks!

Also, does anyone know a cheap place to buy a new side stand, and how hard it'll be to install it on my own?

ARGGGG. mothersunzab...................
Douchenozzle...nice-the business end.

If you go to servicehonda.com and enter the part number listed on back there, it will tell you where it goes. It does not look familiar to me.

Welcome aboard, by the way.

It is, as it says on the back, a maintenance cap and goes up under the front fairing under the headlights.

Service Honda Part Number: 64365-MAT-0000ZA
Description: Cap *NH1* - (Wonder if this means it is no longer available)
Service Honda Price: $6.82 U.S.

Give a shout as you probably cannot find it less expensive anywhere else.

The side stand is $39.97 from RideNow.

That cap is, as WhiteKnight has pointed out, the cover that is installed on the front fairing below the headlights.

KC-10 FE out...

Yep... That little cover falls out real easy....

If I bang on the front fairing in the wrong place, it pops out....
