Checking Tire pressure and riding on fresh Tar.

Hello Club,

I consider myself a pretty safe driver who takes care of my ride, but I’m not sure why I don’t check the tires pressure more often.
Its one the most critical things on the bike!
When was the last time you checked?
Be smart check them!!! :o

FYI about streets that are being repaved!

I came around a blind turn, and they where repaving the road…no big deal at first” Right”
Since I just was riding for an hour and it was hot out I just didn’t think how hot my tires must have been.
It was about a ¼ mile of riding on the fresh new tar.

When I went back to ride the next day the bike was all over the road.
I went right to the bike shop…He asked was I riding the bike on a track all day. “I wish”
What had happen is I super heated my tire riding on the pavement.
The tires where just about toast …He told me inflate to 38 -40 psi…This should and did round out the edges.
But they are still not the same and I’m going to replace the set to be safe.
All I can say is lesson learned. I think…

Regards,
VFRSteve
