Time to have them wheel bearings checked!

Out of curiosity, you don't use a high pressure hose to wash your bike do you? If so, that is a major cause of wheel bearing failure.

When the bike is parked, run your hand over the front tire. If it feels "rippley" then your tire has scalaped and needs replaced. That can cause a wobbly type feel.

And last but not least, check your streeting head tightness.

Here's what I've done and found;

I have replaced:
head bearings, wheel bearings, new seals and oil in fork tubes.

result: NONE, still wobble @ 60 - 50 mph.

I found out yesterday that a friend with the same year (2000 VFR) has the same issue. So, this maybe something inherent with that year.

I would like to ask everyone that has a 2000 vfr to lighten up on the handle bars @ 50-60 mpg and see if you get any wobble. this is just a survey of sorts.

Hey Armuch,

Try taking your bike to Milpitas Honda and have them do a CompuTrack analysis of your bike. It could be something as simple as a suspension tweak or a rake and trail adjustment.

I also own a Y2K VFR and early on I also had front end wobble while decelerating. Come to find out I had the rear Suspension set too firm and the front set too soft. I changed the tires and had the suspension setted up and now I am as smooth as silk. Yea!! that is the ticket.

If it's new and balanced inspect it REAL close for a bubble or some other defect. Do you feel any pulsing during braking?

Good thread guys, I notice a little wobble when I take my hands off the bars, had it with the old Dunlops and the new Conti's, it was there with the old suspension and still there with the new suspension, I'll be checking the wheel bearings next weekend......

I reduced rear preload and had no efect.

Ye Old Pizza Joynt burnt to the ground, that was a big loss.

Pulsing is usually due to your rotors being warped.

As Cat0020 asked, have you re-balanced your wheels to see if they're balanced?

Brake lever pulsing when you apply the brakes usually means that the brake rotor/s are warped, or brake pads have moved out of alignment.
Put bike on centerstand, rotate wheel/s to determine rotor alignment. Pull the calipers to check for brake pad wear.

Warped rotor/s usually do not effect handling, nor should it cause the front end to wobble at certain speed going straight without braking.

as for the wheel wobble....it must be the tire, running the new cont attack, did not have the wobble with mich roads.

Regarding the wheel wobble at 50-60 mph. I had a similar thing on a bike a few years ago, with a nearly new front tyre. Had the bike shop remove the tyre, and they found that the rubber dust inside had balled up. It's not normally a problem but when the bike is at that speed the weight of the balls was enough to throw the balance out and induce a wobble. As soon as the balls were removed the problem went away.

well the wobble is gone.....turns out it was conti attack. I also installed new wave rotors. so thank you to all that tried to help.
