Mistake???

Like most of us, I am a VF/VFR fan. I own 1.gen ´83 model, 2.gen ´88model and´89 model And am very pleased with all of them. BUT... the mistake... Last few weeks I have been using my friends CBR1100XX Blackbird and have started thinking "Shit, should I buy one????" I just keep on thinking. "WHY does Honda not make VFR with bigger engine???" The Blackbird is GREAT but it is heavy, VFR with 1000 or 1100cc engine could hold the light and quick character AND release equal power as the bird. I know... I would buy one...

I know that VFR is not a race bike, the Blackbird is also not a race bike. And I´m not talking about race, Just like to have more power and low rpm grunt.

Honda won't do it because they don't listen to those who currently own bikes like the VFR. They look at what everyone is buying, and face it, the VFR is just an average seller at best. Are there plenty on the road? Sure. But do you see a the same age people the buy CBR's or other sport bikes buying VFR's? Not so much so. Therefore, since sport bikes are a huge seller, that is what Honda will develop and sell.

You are right. And Honda makes mostly sport bike´s (CBR 600/1000) cos they are there top selleing items. But VFR with 1000-1200cc engine would be the right bike for many of us... I know they did make a prototype of big engine 5cylinder VFR (1400cc if I remember right) some year´s ago but it never got to production. It would heve been a good replacement for the Blackbird.
