differences in clutch and brake reservoirs

Am I correct in thinking that I could use almost any year and model front clutch and brake reservoir for my 87 vfr700? The glass is trashed on both reservoirs and I would like to replace with a matching set of something a little newer. I think they would all work the same and they should all be for the same diameter bars....right? I am thinking that the only differences are shape, size and color.
Thanks, Doug

Don't replace the entire M/C.

Just replace the site glass:

Site_glass_replacement - SabMagFAQ

Works for both M/C.

There are differences. Bore, stroke, type of lever. Can't really mix and match without knowing what you have, what you need and what you're trying to use.

the original brake pumps are bad...you can change them with every other brake pump on the market...the bars diameter is standard...
If you choose a radial pump you'll have to change the hoses because the plug is in the lower part.
I've bought 2 Brembo 16mm axial pumps coming from Aprilia Tuono.....what a difference
